"Oh, them. They're the dance people."
Movies have a way of affecting us, both mind and body: dramas that touch a nerve will make us cry; comedies that tickle our funny bones will make us laugh; horror movies that give us the heebie-jeebies will make us gasp and cringe; and dance movies with the right rhythm will make us tap our toes and wiggle in our seats. There's not always a great story to be told in dance movies, but as long as the actors can dance and dance well, we'll typically forgive a weak plot. Put on your dancing shoes and help us rate the movies that really make you want to shake your groove thing.

Despite Hollywood's penchant to go into the archives and reboot nearly everything, there were some movie fans thought — or at least hoped — were off limits; movies that were too timeless, too adored to ever be remade. But after classics like The Karate Kid and even Footloose were rebooted, we knew nothing was off limits.
And now we have news that there is a Dirty Dancing remake in the works. According to The Hollywood Reporter Kenny Ortega, the choreographer of the 1987 original starring Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze, will direct the remake. Who would you cast in the remake? >> Posted 08.09.11 by Chris
Patrick Swayze, best known for his role in 1987's Dirty Dancing, has died following a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. Swayze followed up his breakthrough role with even greater success with the supernatural romance Ghost, turning him into a household name. While he never quite recaptured the success of Ghost, roles in Road House and Point Break gave him a certain level of permanent cult status.
In the following years Swayze kept a lower profile, but a key role as the pedophilic inspirational speaker in Richard Kelly's Donnie Darko introduced him to another generation of movie lovers. He will be missed. Posted 09.15.09 by reelz
