The release of his debt-ridden pal (Edward Norton) from jail spurs a law student (Matt Damon) to resume high-stakes gambling.
Rounders starred Matt Damon and Edward Norton as a couple of card sharks who make the "rounds" of various underground poker games hoping to earn enough money to get out from under the thumb of a loan shark. The 1998 movie preceded the Texas Hold 'em explosion of the early '00s and remains a popular movie to this day. There have been various rumblings about a possible sequel over the years, but as time has gone by — and as Damon exploded as the star of the Bourne series — the odds of seeing a sequel have diminished significantly. However, in a recent interview with MTV, the screenwriters of Rounders, Brian Koppelman and David Levien, said that a sequel is still something they "plan to do," it's just a matter of finding the right story.
