Tim Burton's latest project, Big Eyes, has big news. Despite being an independent film, Burton and co-writer/directors Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski just snagged A-listers Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Reynolds to star as the 1960's famous artistic couple, Margaret and Walter Keane.
Big Eyes is based on the true story of kitsch art icon, Margaret Keane (Witherspoon), who is best known for her paintings of grief-stricken, wide-eyed children. However, after their divorce, the Keanes became embroiled in a bitter dispute over the origins and authenticity of their paintings — her ex-husband Walter (Reynolds) claimed for years that the paintings were his but was challenged by Margaret in court, resulting in a well-documented "paint off." hear what the writers are saying >>>
