These days,Jeff Goldblum is more likely to show up in a Wes Anderson movie than a summer blockbuster, but back in the 1990s, he starred in three of the most successful movies of all time in Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Independence Day. With both Jurassic World and Independence Day 2 gearing up for production, only one franchise will sport the 'Blum.
"They haven't called me for [Jurassic World]4," Goldblum recently told The Huffington Post. "But I was perfectly satisfied with the two that I did. I'm still satisfied with that and I'll be the first in line to see anything else, so, you know."
However, Goldblum admitted that Independence Day 2 will be another matter.
"Yeah, they've talked to me about it and I've talked to them about it and they're excited and I'm anxious and eager to see — I haven't read anything — what they cook up. You know, I think they're trying to put it together."
Set for a June 2015 release, Jurassic World will star Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help) with Vincent D'Onofrio (Men in Black) recently cast alongside Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi, The Amazing Spider-Man) as the movie's villains.
Independence Day 2 will feature Goldblum but not Will Smith, who reportedly decided against returning. the sequel is set to open on July 4, 2016, 20 years after the original.
