Academy award-winning director Kevin MacDonald's latest movie, The Eagle of the Ninth, wrapped principal photography last month, after shooting in Hungary and Scotland. Now, Yahoo! has a first look at the movie in a new set of still images.
Based on the historical novel of the same name by Rosemary Sutcliff, the movie stars Channing Tatum as Marquis Aquila, a Roman soldier who embarks on a quest with his British slave, Esca (played by Jamie Bell), into the highlands of Caledonia to retrieve the Eagle emblem of his father's lost Ninth Legion.
Currently in post-production, The Eagle of the Ninth is expected to open in 2010, but no date has been announced. The adapted script was penned by Jeremy Brock, who also wrote the script for MacDonald's critically acclaimed biopic, The Last King of Scotland. Mark Strong and Donald Sutherland also star.
