"Okay, we know Transformers: Return of the Fallen is out," you say, "but what blockbuster is there for me, someone who’s already seen Megan Fox’s rack and isn’t a racist?" Into that breach steps Public Enemies, recounting the pursuit of legendary pirate Willy Wonka Dillinger by noted law-and-order type The Batman. Here are the top 10 gangster movies you should watch to psych yourself up for Johnny Depp rocking out with his Tommy gun. Posted 07.01.09 by reelz
Shocker! Keira Knightley has signed on to do another film set in modern times. The bony starlet has already shot Last Night, a romantic drama with Eva Mendes. Now, she's signed on to star in the contemporary crime drama London Boulevard opposite Colin Farrell. The movie will mark the directing debut of William Monahan, the Oscar-winning screenwriter of The Departed.
But fear not! All is still right with the world. Young Keira also has a host of period pieces on the horizon. She's set to play Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald in the Jazz-age The Beautiful and the Damned; do some Shakespeare (and perhaps trade not-eating tips) with Gwyneth in King Lear; and maybe play Eliza Doolittle in a new version of My Fair Lady. Surely there's another corset or two in her future. Posted 01.23.09 by reelz
The last time Warner Bros. picked up an Asian flick for remake purposes, it became a little Best Picture winner named The Departed.
The studio is hoping for similar success with their new pickup, the South Korean thriller hit The Chaser. The studio is taking a similar approach to Departed, with early talk of Departed screenwriter William Monahan writing Chaser and Leonardo DiCaprio as a possible lead.
According to Variety, the film is loosly based on the exploits of a real life serial killer. In the original, Ha Jung-Woo played the killer.

The 2007 MTV Movie Awards went off without a hitch last night, as the music network celebrated the edgier side of Hollywood by doling out its irreverent Golden Popcorn honors to the movie industry.
Emcee Sarah Silverman wasn't as dirty as she can sometimes be, but she did make some nice cracks about heiress-on-the-wrong-side-of-the-law Paris Hilton--who was in the audience at the time. Uncomfortable!
The big winners of the night were Johnny Depp with Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - it won Best Movie and he won Best Performance - and Sacha Baron Cohen, who won Best Comedic Performance for Borat and Best Kiss (along with Will Ferrell) for Talladega Nights. The two men celebrated their win by rolling around on stage and making out.
Other winners include: Jack Nicholson for Best Villain in The Departed, Jaden Smith for Breakthrough Performance with The Pursuit of Happyness, Gerard Butler for Best Fight in 300, Transformers for Best Summer Movie You Haven't Seen Yet, Josh Greenbaum for mtvU Best Filmmaker on Campus with Featured Film: Border Patrol, United 300 for Best Movie Spoof, and Mike Myers for the MTV Generation Award. If it wasn't already apparent, Leo is the new apple of Marty's eye. Like Robert DeNiro before him, DiCaprio has forged an impressive kinship with the acclaimed director. The two have collaborated on the director's last three films, culminating is 2006's Best Picture winner, The Departed.
Today Variety reports that Scorsese is planning to cast DiCaprio in the lead for a pic based on Jordan Belfort's upcoming tell-all autobiography "The Wolf of Wall Street." Warner Brothers will produce the pic, which will be adapted for the screen by Terence Winter (HBO's The Sopranos).
It's unclear as of yet where the pic will fall in the director's slate of upcoming pics. As we reported earlier, rumors are still circulating of a potential Departed sequel. Reelz.com will keep you posted as more news comes down the Hollywood pipeline. Posted 03.26.07 by reelz
