"Oh, them. They're the dance people."
Movies have a way of affecting us, both mind and body: dramas that touch a nerve will make us cry; comedies that tickle our funny bones will make us laugh; horror movies that give us the heebie-jeebies will make us gasp and cringe; and dance movies with the right rhythm will make us tap our toes and wiggle in our seats. There's not always a great story to be told in dance movies, but as long as the actors can dance and dance well, we'll typically forgive a weak plot. Put on your dancing shoes and help us rate the movies that really make you want to shake your groove thing.

Yesterday, MTV released the poster for the upcoming Footloose remake and, as promised, the trailer has now arrived.
For fans of the 1984 original, it looks like the remake isn't veering too far from its predecessor. The movie still follows Ren McCormick (here Kenny Wormald instead of Kevin Bacon) who moves from a big city to the small town of Bomont, where Reverend Shaw Moore (Dennis Quaid replacing John Lithgow) has outlawed dancing. There's even a solo dancing sequence in an empty warehouse. watch the trailer >> Posted 06.22.11 by Ryan
Did you wake up this morning wondering what the Footloose remake was going to look like? Then today is your lucky day.
MTV Films unleashed to the masses the new poster of its upcoming remake of the Kevin Bacon classic, along with new stills featuring star Kenny Wormald. And if those weren't enough to get you dancing, MTV is planning to release the trailer for the movie later today.
Footloose redux hits theaters Oct. 14. It also stars Julianne Hough and Dennis Quaid, who takes over the Rev. Shaw Moore character from John Lithgow. Andie MacDowell plays Quaid's wife. Will it live up to the movie that made Bacon a star? a poster for Kevin Bacon's new movie >> Posted 06.21.11 by Chris
Today's Challenge: Disney's Prom opens next weekend, but this weekend, try to link two classic '80s movies with memorable prom scenes: Footloose and Pretty in Pink.
Our first Facebook movie game, ClusterFlick, plays off that old "six degrees of separation" theory — you know, the one that has a certain Kevin at the center of the Hollywood universe. It's easy to play, but not so easy to win. The goal is to use the major cast of movies to get from Point A to Point B in the smallest number of moves.
