For more than a decade, Harry Potterphiles visiting England have made their way to many of the real-life places that inspired the books' and movies' locales. Now they can add the Leavesden studio to their pilgrimage checklist. The Making of Harry Potter opened last weekend, taking fans behind-the-scenes and showcasing a huge array of the sets, costumes, and props. We'll have TV coverage of the Warner Bros. studio tour on an upcoming Hollywood Dailies. In the meantime, enjoy this photo sneak peek at J.K. Rowling's imagination brought to life.

Hey Potterphiles, do you have $350 burning a hole in your pocket? If so, then Warner Bros. have a deal for you! A new box set is available for pre-order on Amazon that includes a 31-disc set of movies and special features, collectible memorabilia, a map of Hogwarts, and one very cool box. There's no date given for when the Blu-ray/DVD/Ultraviolet Digital set will be available, but it is promised to be released before the end of 2012.
Some may be wondering how eight movies get spread out across a 31-disc collection. Apparently the Harry Potter Wizards Collection contains 18 movie discs, including both the theatrical releases and the extended cuts of Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets, and both 3D and 2D versions of Parts 1 and 2 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. We're betting that the 40 Harry Potter fans that actually own a 3D TV are stoked about that! The other 13 discs contain special features, though only 5 hours of the special features are of the "never before seen" variety.
This is the first new box set to be announced since Warners decided last year that none of the previously released DVDs, Blu-rays or box sets would be shipped out to stores after Dec. 29, 2011. If the plan is to release box sets such as the Wizards Collection, it seems like it might be a good time to grab one of those $80 sets that haven't yet sold out.

There is a certain expectation for child stars: After early success, they're supposed to become a hot mess in adulthood. Lindsay Lohan is a good example. In a recent interview with British GQ, Daniel Radcliffe was quoted as saying "I became so reliant on [alcohol] to enjoy stuff." He goes on to explain that "there were a few years there when I was just so enamored with the idea of living some sort of famous person's lifestyle that really isn't suited to me." The Guardian published the story with the title "Daniel Radcliffe 'reliant' on alcohol for final Harry Potter films," which kind of makes it sound like he needed a 12-ounce glass of vodka just to get his day started when shooting Half-Blood Prince. To the magazine's credit, that would be a far more interesting story. But it doesn't sound like that's the real story.

In this week's upcoming edition of Total Film magazine, Daniel Radcliffe sat down to talk about all things Harry Potter. In the snippet offered online, Radcliffe discusses Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the exposition-heavy, horcrux-explaining, sixth movie in the franchise. In the interview, Radcliffe admits "Half-Blood Prince wasn't my favorite installment overall."
I just hated my performance. The film was good, but it's a huge amount of exposition. I think it's the most beautiful of all the chapters ... but [it's] basically about setting up number seven.... I just wasn't very happy with number six in terms of my own performance.

Last year's thriller Orphan really upped the Evil Kid ante with "Esther," who caused all kinds of murder and mayhem. When that behavior includes beating a nun to death with a hammer, that's pretty evil.
But clearly trying to top her is Case 39's "Lilith" — played by Jodelle Ferland, building on her creepy kid behavior in Tideland. By the looks of the trailer, she could be the homicidal spawn of Esther and Damien. The ReelzChannel 100 began when we asked Leonard Maltin for his favorite Hidden Gems of the decade. His list led the web team into a general discussion about the best movies of the decade and — after no small amount of debate, arguing, and (we're not proud to say) some petty name-calling — we decided we'd better bring it to an end with a company-wide vote. Then it was just a matter of tallying up the votes and hoping for the best. Lucky for us, ReelzChannel is filled with a staff ranging from movie lovers to movie fanatics. What turned out isn't what you'll find on a critic's best of list — instead it's what movie fans really enjoyed.

Daniel Radcliffe and his Harry Potter co-star Emma Watson have been crowned the top-grossing male and female actors by The Guinness Book of World Records. Radcliffe was added to the latest edition, which debuted in September, as the "Highest-Grossing Actor of the Decade," with a per-movie average of $558 million. Watson won the award for "Highest Average Box-Office Gross for an Actress," with a per-movie average of $753.7 million.
Other notable Hollywood winners include Angelina Jolie as "Most Powerful Actress" for the second year in a row and Johnny Depp as "Most Powerful Actor," supplanting Jolie's husband, Brad Pitt, who won the title last year. Former couple Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman earned the dubious awards of "Most Overpaid Actor" and "Most Overpaid Actress," respectively.
The pop culture phenomenon Twilight, directed by Catherine Hardwick, earned the award for "Highest-Grossing Movie by a Female Director," having raked in more than $380 million worldwide.

With the release of the Blu-ray for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince comes a first look at the grand finale to the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Included on the disc, and now on-line, is a short featurette that starts out with director David Yates and producer David Heyman meditating on the success of the franchise, but then delivers our first actual footage from the movie.
It's definitely not Hogwarts any more as the no-longer-quite-so-young wizards embark on their final quest through the Muggle world to find the remaining Horcruxes and defeat Voldemort.

While fans won't get a new Harry Potter movie in theaters this season — last year's schedule bump changed that rhythm — they do get a new DVD. On December 8, The Half-Blood Prince releases.
Unsurprisingly, the sixth installment in the Potter series had some book-to-movie plot changes, a necessity when adapting such rich books. That said, there were a few changes that surprised us and left us wondering how they would affect the final two movies.
We surveyed top Harry Potter fansites to see what movie changes they believed was most significant for the Deathly Hallows, as well as how they thought/hoped David Yates would deal with those changes. Find out what they told us.
