"I'm a woman and can't be taken for granted. Life's a bitch, now so am I."
Robert Rodriguez made us wait an agonizingly long seven years before he felt that the script for the follow-up to Sin City was good enough to go into production, but the extra three months it took for him to choose the actress to play the femme fatale in the movie were almost unbearable. It was recently revealed that Eva Green has been selected to play Ava Lord in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, inspired casting that already has fans of the original movie and of the comic books created by Frank Miller salivating for opening day.
You can't have a great hero without a great villain. After all, it's the dastardly actions of the villains that provide the necessary obstacles for the heroes to overcome to achieve their greatness. But, just because a villain is evil to the core, that doesn't mean that she can't also be incredibly sexy. Help us choose the movies that have the hottest, the sexiest, the deadliest female villains.

2008 was a big year for comic book movies. The biggest so far, in fact. With the help of Jim Littler, editor of ComicBookMovie.com, we've got the definitive Top Posted 01.01.09 by reelz
10 9 Comic Book Movies of 2008.
Frank Miller's homage to comics legend Will Eisner bombed big-time over the holiday weekend with a poor 9th place performance, making only $6.5 million.
That really hurts the first-time director who, it was just announced, is slated to direct the Buck Rogers movie. For Miller's sake, his street cred for previous hits like Sin City and 300 will hopefully protect him from Hollywood's practice of dumping directors of box office bombs.
The Spirit earned an average of $2,595 per screen compared with Marley and Me's $10,632.
The takeaway: Cute puppies and cute couples sold better than superheroes over the holidays. Posted 12.29.08 by reelz
Ever wondered what you might look like if your visage were re-imagined in the iconic style of comic book legend Frank Miller? In anticipation of the Christmas Day (that's this Thursday, by the way) release of Miller's latest directorial effort, The Spirit, Lionsgate recently unveiled a new iPhone app which allows users to access content from the film and replace the stars of The Spirit with their own 3-D images.
Head over to mycityscreams.com to get the process started. Who knows -- maybe you'll look as ridiculous as Samuel L. Jackson does. Posted 12.22.08 by reelz
Odd Lot Entertainment has chosen comic book legend and novice director Frank Miller to lead the Buck Rogers movie, so says The Hollywood Reporter.
This will be Take 2 for Miller, who has his directorial debut with The Spirit, opening in theaters Christmas Day.
Many comic book movie fans have openly panned The Spirit as an aesthetic rip-off of Sin City, and for looking too cornball, but a few of the more open-minded have expressed a "wait and see" attitude.
Now the first reviews are hitting the web, and if they're all like the critique at Latino Review, Odd Lot may want to reconsider:
"The costumes are bad, the sets are bad, the lighting is bad, the performances are bad. Everything! BAD, BAD, BAD, BAD, BAD!" Posted 12.19.08 by reelz
Lionsgate has posted two new TV spots for Frank Miller's The Spirit, which hits theaters on Christmas Day. The first features clips of the movie's femmes fatales in action with the voiceover "These women have a thirst for power and a thing for The Spirit." It's a bad girl role actress Eva Mendes, who plays Sand Saref, apparently really got into. In an interview with CBS News, she gleefully explains, "I get to play not only a jewel thief, but a woman who's been married 14 times and killed every last one of her husbands." The second spot highlights the conflict between the Spirit and the Octopus, played by Samuel L. Jackson, who just talked to SciFi Wire about how the role brought out his lust for ever bigger guns.
And if that's not enough, Blackfilm.com has put up six new clips from the movie as part of its December special on The Spirit. Posted 12.15.08 by reelz
