Perhaps this is to atone for the gaffes of the past year.
The 2003 cult comedy classic, Arrested Development is back after its short-lived run on TV. Netflix announced that they would be exclusively picking up a new season to be aired in 2013.
Despite its current popularity, Arrested Development only lasted three seasons during its initial run from 2003-2006. Its legacy as one of the funniest shows on television still lives on five years after its premature cancellation. During its tenure, the show won five Emmys, one Golden Globe and was declared one of the "100 Best TV Shows of All-Time" by Time Magazine.
Netflix, for their part, seem to have spent the majority of this past year issuing mea culpas and angering their subscriber base with a series of poorly timed, explained, and executed rate hikes. In our eyes, bringing back the Bluths is all they needed to do to redeem the red envelope. Posted 11.21.11 by reelz
