While at the New York premiere for The Runaways, Kristen Stewart talked to PopSugar, sharing big news for the Twilight fandom. First, her details on when Breaking Dawn will start filming.
And if that weren't enough to get the fansites buzzing, she discussed her excitement for Gus Van Sant, one of the rumored potential directors for Breaking Dawn.
What do you think of the Milk and Good Will Hunting director helming the final installment in Stephenie Meyer's saga? Posted 03.25.10 by reelz
In The Runaways, which opens this week, Kristen Stewart plays the rocker Joan Jett — quite a change from The Twilight Saga's Bella Swan, not to mention her earlier roles. So how did Stewart make the transition?
We've tracked her transformation from cute child actor to awkward teen to full-blown sex symbol in Kristen Stewart's Path to Hotness. Posted 03.16.10 by reelz
A new still from rocker movie The Runaways has been released, and shows everyone's favorite teen star Kristen Stewart as guitarist Joan Jett.
In an effort to look drastically different from her Twilight alter-ego Bella Swan, Stewart donned an authentic rock outfit worthy of Joan Jett, herself, as well as chopping her Bella-esque locks in favor of a short black 'do. It caused quite an uproar among die-hard Twilighters, and left Bella with no choice but to wear a wig in upcoming movie Eclipse. Do you think it's a good look for her, or should she go back to mousy brown hair and drab leaf-colored chords?
The Runaways opens on March 19th, and also stars fellow Twilight Saga co-star Dakota Fanning. Posted 02.28.10 by reelz
The Runaways, a girl rock 'n' roll drama starring Twilight star Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie, doesn't open in wide release until March 19th. But it was screened at Sundance, providing this handful of early reviews.
"...a rousing portrait of the eponymous 1970's teenage band [that takes] a hard look at life on the road at a time when most girls with bands were groupies."
— David D'Arcy, ScreenDaily.com
"...bursts with energy, youth, excess, female empowerment, sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. It's an instant hit worldwide with its cast of young stars, but is it any good? Surprisingly, yes. It just must be met on its own terms."
— Kirk Honeycutt, Hollywood Reporter
"...proves a conventionally enjoyable making-and-breaking-of-the-band saga."

Yesterday I talked with two of the most popular stars here — Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning. They're promoting their new biopic, The Runaways, and were quite happy to talk about playing Joan Jett and Cherie Currie.
The duo spent a lot of time with the singers to learn more about them to play the roles. Stewart told me she admires and respects Joan a lot and that made it much more intense for her. Both Stewart and Fanning also loved the movie's edgy, '70s-style wardrobe, telling me that almost every day the wardrobe department would have something new and crazier for them to wear and they loved it!
This morning the studio released a teaser poster for The Runaways. You can see a big version of the poster, which has the tagline "It's 1975 and they're about to explode," here. Posted 01.25.10 by reelz
If you're headed to Sundance and hoping to catch one of the three screenings of The Runaways, good luck with the wait list. Not that the screenings need additional buzz, but just in case, new stills from the movie featuring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning have hit the web. A new clip has also arrived. Check it out below. Posted 01.21.10 by reelz
"In 1975, Rock was a man's world," we're told in the teaser trailer for The Runaways. The biopic follows the teenage girl band that rose to worldwide fame. Kristen Stewart stars as rock icon Joan Jett alongside Dakota Fanning as bandmate Cherie Currie.
What do you think, Twilight Saga fans? Do you like seeing the pair together again? Posted 12.17.09 by reelz
Twilight leading lady Kristen Stewart has swapped her brown pants and long hair for skinny jeans and a black mullet, in order to play seventies rock icon Joan Jett in The Runaways. Talking to British newspaper The Daily Mail, Stewart said:
I'm just listening to her music all the time. I'm trying to just make myself aware of the time period and what she was going through. It's one of the most immense responsibilities to play a real person. Her story's important. It's an incredibly triumphant feminist story really.
Wow, is that enthusiasm we see? It looks like Stewart has finally found a project to her liking, and it's one that doesn't include vampires, teen romance, or Robert Pattinson. Stewart and the real Joan Jett have already been spotted at a recording studio together, no doubt perfecting Stewart's voice, which was last heard in Into the Wild. It's a good job New Moon filming has wrapped, or Bella would be looking more rock 'n' roll than Stephenie Meyer ever intended her to. Posted 06.18.09 by reelz
Contain yourself. It's finally official. A Summit Entertainment rep has confirmed that Dakota Fanning will star as Jane in New Moon. The Twilight sequel is set to start shooting later this month in Vancouver. Nikki Reed, the actress playing Rosalie Hale in the film, says they've just received a script for the film.
As we mentioned last week, Fanning is also in talks to star with Kristen Stewart in the '70s biopic The Runaways. Posted 03.09.09 by reelz
