Car chases used to be a staple of action movies, but lately motorcyles have been stealing the show. Every superhero seems to have one — Batman's (Christian Bale) homemade "Bat-Pod" helped him run down the Joker (Heath Ledger) in The Dark Knight, and gave Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) some much-needed firepower in The Dark Knight Rises; Captain America (Chris Evans) took on goose-stepping HYDRA agents astride a customized Harley-Davidson Cross Bones in Captain America: The First Avenger, while The Green Hornet's Kato (Jay Chou) fought crime on a Harley-Davidson V-Rod — and badass grrls like Salt's title character (Angelina Jolie) and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo's Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara) prefer them.
Ever wondered where all of those awesome big screen bikes come from and where they go after the movie is wrapped? We recently got a sneak peek behind the scenes of movie motorcycles courtesy of Billy Hammon and Picture Car Warehouse, which not only provides motorcycles for various movies, but modifies and customizes them so that they will "take on a life of their own" on screen. From the futuristic desert war machines ridden by the vampire-hunting Priests in Priest, to the massive, ornate skulls-and-flames chopper conjured by Nicolas Cage in Ghost Rider, Hammon says that the goal is to make the motorcycles "their own characters," regardless of who is riding them.

After a string of teaser and theatrical trailers that centered mainly on Paul Bettany's (The Tourist) heroic title character, some of the supporting cast members of director Scott Stewart's (Legion) new movie, Priest, are finally getting the spotlight. First, Maggie Q (Live Free or Die Hard) got to show off her badass fighting skills in a clip that featured a desert showdown between her character, Priestess, a speeding train, and some futuristic biker thugs that could have zoomed right out of The Road Warrior. Now, a new clip showcases Karl Urban's (Star Trek) dusky-voiced character, the vampire known as Black Hat, and Lily Collins (Abduction), his human hostage and the reason for Priest's one-man crusade against vampires that puts him at odds with Church law.

It's been a long, brutal winter in most parts of the country, so it's no surprise that even Hollywood is looking to get a jump on summer. The rollout of blockbuster movies starts this Friday, a full month before the Memorial Day Weekend.
As you'd expect (and hope), the mix of movies being offered up is heavy on the Action/Adventure movies (11) and Comedies (10). There's also plenty of offerings for Kids/Families (8). What's new this year is the addition of more R-rated comedies, thanks in no small measure to The Hangover's runaway success two summers back. Along with it's sequel, see what else is playing this summer — complete with trailers and photo galleries.

The first preview clip from director Scott Stewart's (Legion) new movie, Priest, has been released and it finally gives fans of butt-kicking actress Maggie Q (Live Free or Die Hard, Deception) something they can really sink their teeth into (vampire pun thoroughly intended). In the movie, which is loosely based on the Korean comic book of the same name by Min-Woo Hyung, Q plays Priestess, a vampire hunter with Jedi-like powers in a post-apocalyptic world where humans live in walled cities dominated by the authority of the Church following the devastating Vampire War. When Priest (Paul Bettany) goes against Church law by leaving the city to hunt down the coven of vampires led by Black Hat (Karl Urban) who kidnapped his niece (Lily Collins), Priestess is one of the warriors sent by the Church to bring him in dead or alive.

In this "Mega Movie Summer," there are 10 alone that draw their inspiration from comic books. (Well, 11 if you want to count The Smurfs ... but we're not.) Given the mix of Norse gods, humans with superhuman abilities, alien robots, and warring apes, there should be plenty of epic onscreen battles to enjoy. But which comic will rule the summer? As part of its "make.believe" commitment to supporting creativity, Sony challenged three media students from London to create new trailers for director Scott Stewart's (Legion) post-apocalyptic vampire movie, Priest, and then flew them to Hollywood to present their work. Now, those three trailers have been released online so that you can see for yourself how the students stack up against the Hollywood professionals.

Of all the comic book movies being released this summer, Priest is one of the least well known, since it isn't based on one of the better known comic books from Marvel or DC, but is based on the Korean manhwa (comic book) by Hyung Min-Woo. Directed by Scott Stewart (Legion), Priest stars Paul Bettany as a warrior priest in a post-apocalyptic world where an uneasy peace has been achieved between humanity and vampires.
The latest trailer for Priest is trying to show that the movie isn't the typical vampire movie, but a vampire movie where priests win high-flying, martial arts-inspired fight sequences with CGI-created creatures.

Just prior to the opening of writer-director Zack Snyder's genre-mashed action movie, Sucker Punch, a series of animated shorts were released as prologues of sorts to several of the fantastical realms in the movie. Now, another action movie with a genre identity crisis, director Scott Stewart's (Legion) post-apocalyptic vampire movie, Priest, has got its own animated prologue, this one by acclaimed animator, director and producer Genndy Tartakovsky (The Powerpuff Girls, Star Wars: Clone Wars, Samurai Jack). Here's hoping Priest's animated prologue will help deliver better results at the box office than Sucker Punch's anemic performance.
