Kristen Stewart took home the Rising Star Award at Sunday's UK BAFTAs show, which sees actors and actresses recognized for their contributions to film. After acting in movies since she was a young girl, we're not quite sure she qualifies as a "rising star," though her performance in New Moon has certainly catapulted her into super-stardom.
Stewart was up against the likes of Nicholas Hoult (A Single Man) and Best Actress winner Carey Mulligan (An Education), but scooped the award thanks to public voting. It came as no surprise to anyone but herself, as we all know how dedicated Twilight fans are — if there's an award to be won, you can almost guarantee Bella and Edward won't come away empty handed.
Stewart accepted the award in her usual awkward style, spending most of the time staring at the podium and stuttering her way through a lackluster speech. She did remember to thank the fans, though, which was most likely a smart idea on her agent's behalf. At least she looked like she meant it, and fans can take away the knowledge that, yes, she does like them really.
