Simon Pegg and Nick Frost scored success with their first two collaborations, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, but their latest, Paul, was their first without director Edgar Wright, who co-wrote Shaun and Fuzz with Pegg.
Though unrelated by story and characters, the movies comprised the first two chapters of the "Three Flavors Cornetto" trilogy, often referred to as the "Blood and Ice Cream" trilogy. The connecting element was the use of popular British ice cream Cornetto, with each movie utilizing a different flavor. Pegg talked to the BBC about the third movie as early as 2008.
Shaun of the Dead has strawberry, Hot Fuzz has the original Cornetto flavor, and there will be a mint-choc chip in the third film. We don't quite know how or why yet, but it will happen.
In a recent interview with MTV, Pegg admitted the third in the trilogy could arrive as early as next year, now that Wright has finished Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Pegg and Frost will soon be finished doing press for Paul.

Comedic actor Seth Rogen is following up his stint as a masked crimefighter in director Michel Gondry's The Green Hornet by lending his voice and mannerisms to a beer-guzzling, pot-smoking, pop culture-inspiring alien refugee named Paul in director Greg Mottola's (Adventureland) new sci-fi comedy, Paul, which opened in the U.K. on Valentine's Day, but is still nearly two weeks away from release in the States. The movie was written by and stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as two British comic book geeks on a road trip in the American Southwest who happen upon Paul as he attempts to escape from the top-secret Area 51 government facility. In a recent interview with ComicsContinuum, Rogen discussed his motion capture work, working with Greg Mottola and the impetus behind the look of the title alien.

A Red Band trailer is out for director Greg Mottola's (Superbad, Adventureland) new sci-fi comedy, Paul, which debuted on Valentine's Day in the U.K. and opens in the U.S. in three weeks. Paul was written by and stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, the comedy duo behind Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, and follows two British comic book nerds who come to America to attend the San Diego Comic-Con and end up picking up an alien hitchhiker named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) who has spent the past 60-plus years since the Roswell incident advising our government at Area 51, all the while picking up many of our nasty habits, such as drinking, smoking pot, and cursing a blue streak.

Universal Pictures has released, via Empire, four new preview clips from director Greg Mottola's (Superbad, Adventureland) upcoming sci-fi comedy, Paul, which opens next week in the U.K. and next month in the U.S. Written by and starring the comedy duo of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, who previously teamed on Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, Paul follows two British comic book nerds on an RV trip in the American Southwest who stumble upon an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) that has escaped from the secret government installation known as Area 51. Comedy ensues as the pair give Paul a lift and come to grips with the fact that aliens are real and that they are fond of funk music and smoking marijuana.

A new preview clip from director Greg Mottola's (Superbad, Adventureland) upcoming sci-fi comedy, Paul, has been released via British online newspaper The Guardian and it includes an introduction by the writers and stars of the movie, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. The movie follows a couple of British comic book nerds (Pegg & Frost, naturally) who venture to America to attend the San Diego Comic-Con. After the convention, the pair drive their RV into the desert to see the infamous Area 51 military base and end up giving a ride to an extraterrestrial named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) who has been living in captivity on the base since the '40s.

One of the greatest comedy imports from Britain since Monty Python has to be the pairing of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Whether bashing in the skulls of zombies in Shaun of the Dead or busting up a seemingly benign neighborhood watch program in Hot Fuzz, it's the obvious real-life bromance between Frost and Pegg that makes their performances so hilarious. Now, the duo have teamed up—as both writers and lead actors— to help an alien (voiced by Seth Rogen) return home in Paul, a new comedy directed by Greg Mottola (Superbad, Adventureland) that pokes fun at everything from sci-fi movies and comic book conventions to good ol' Americana herself.
In this new featurette, which includes some never-before-seen footage from the movie, Frost and Pegg discuss the "alien road-trip fiasco" concept at the heart of the movie and how being "foreign in America" was a lot of fun during the real-life RV road-trip the pair took while writing the movie.

There's been plenty of foreign promotion for the upcoming comedy Paul, which follows Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (previously partnered in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz) as two (appropriately) British sci-fi geeks who are touring around America in a RV to see Area 51 where they meet an actual alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen). So far, there's been an international teaser trailer, followed by a full-length international trailer. Even an Italian poster has been released.
The reason for this is simple: Paul opens in the U.K. a full month before it opens in the U.S. However, at long last, a domestic trailer has finally been released, and includes footage previously unseen in the other trailers.

Columbia Pictures has released several new posters for director Michel Gondry's (Be Kind Rewind) The Green Hornet, the big-screen adaptation of the classic masked radio serial hero of the '40s and '50s. A couple weeks ago, a new Green Hornet quad poster was released for the UK movie market that featured four images of the main characters across the top. Now, those four images have been released as a series of character posters aimed at the Korean movie market. The four posters feature: The Green Hornet (Seth Rogen), Kato (Jay Chou), Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), and Benjamin Chudnofsky (Academy Award–winner Christoph Waltz). Additionally, a new US teaser poster was also recently released that shows the updated Green Hornet logo.

Publicity materials for the upcoming comedy Paul are slowly trickling out. The official synopsis was finally released in July, and the international teaser trailer only just released in October. The movie — about two British, sci-fi geeks traveling across America who cross paths with an actual extraterrestrial — was written by and stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, who have teamed up previously in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.
With a March 18, 2011, release date looming, new promotional materials are making their way online, including a new domestic teaser poster, as well as a full-length international trailer, which gives a more detailed look into the character of Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen).
