UPDATE: Originally it was believed Date Night won the weekend. After a recount that involved the state of Florida and no small amount of hanging chads, Clash of the Titans is the champ, as Date Night's original estimates were almost $2M too optimistic. Titans' winning streak will almost certainly end at two, as Kick-Ass will likely do just that this weekend.

On paper Date Night sounds pretty good: match funnyman Steve Carell with funnywoman Tina Fey and you've got comedic gold. We thought that too until we saw the trailer, which more similarly resembled comedic pig iron. What do the critcs think so far?

Olivia Munn Compares Her Two Iron Man 2 Roles

After Olivia Munn told Complex that she had to reshoot her Iron Man 2 scenes as an entirely new character, comic book fans everywhere have been wondering what character she will portray. Speculation about her original role had her portraying Melina Vostokoff, aka Iron Maiden, but in a follow-up interview with Complex, Munn said that there was never any truth to that rumor.
Jon Favreau made that joke at Comic-Con when I was interviewing him because it's just a cameo. If I was Iron Maiden, there'd be a big press release. I can't say what I'm doing at all, because I signed away my life to Marvel if I say anything—but I think I'm allowed to say that everyone seemed to love my catering!
Munn refused to reveal what character she would be playing, but said that she enjoyed both roles for different reasons.
If I got to walk past Robert Downey Jr.'s trailer and hand him a bottled water, I would've been ecstatic! I'm a huge geek, and to have anything more than a passing glance in Iron Man 2 is a dream come true. I don't need anything big, just a chance to fulfill a little part of my nerd fantasy. If you made me pick, my first role had more improv and was a lot of fun, but for my second one I got to pick a Marvel Comics character. It's pretty dope that from here on out, I'm that Marvel character.
Before Iron Man 2 debuts, Munn will be appearing in a small role in director Shawn Levy's Date Night, starring Steve Carell and Tina Fey. Munn also also be starring in the pilot episode of Perfect Couples on NBC.

Steve Carell to Star in Golf Comedy Missing Links

The Hollywood Reporter writes that Steve Carell has signed on to star in Missing Links, a golf-themed comedy based on a novel by ESPN journalist Rick Reilly. The story involves a group of golf buddies who regular play on the worst golf course in the country. They make a bet about which of them can successfully score a round of 18 at the upscale private club next door.
Jay Lavender, who wrote The Break-Up, will pen the script. Reilly previously wrote the screenplay for the George Clooney-directed comedy Leatherheads.
Other Carell projects include next year's comedy Date Night, starring Tina Fey, and Mark Wahlberg. He will also star in the Jay Roach-directed comedy Dinner for Schmucks and lend his voice talents to the animated movie Despicable Me.
