An arsenal of TV spots have just been released for the thriller The Adjustment Bureau which follows Matt Damon and Emily Blunt as two lovers who are kept from being together by the "Agents of Fate." The Adjustment Bureau was based on a short story by the late sci-fi author Philip K. Dick, and, in an interview with The LA Times, writer-director-producer George Nolfi (The Bourne Ultimatum) admitted that the genre-blending movie is "an unusual movie, to say the least."
It’s not one of those things where the studio is saying, "Here’s a genre you know and you’ve seen it a thousand times and it’s a sequel or the start of a franchise." This one is a little different.

Back in 2009, The Bourne Ultimatum screenwriter George Nolfi was hired to write a fourth Bourne movie for The Bourne Supremacy and Ultimatum director Paul Greengrass and actor Matt Damon. Greengrass left the proposed sequel, and Nolfi went on to write and direct the upcoming The Adjustment Bureau (which stars Damon). Universal moved on to The Bourne Legacy, which won't feature Jason Bourne, but another protagonist with the same training and skill set and has Tony Gilroy writing and directing.
In an interview with The Playlist, Nolfi explained what happened to his Bourne 4 was abandoned.

A trio of new teaser posters for upcoming movies have been released. Joining the preview clip from director Jonathan Liebesman's new sci-fi movie, Battle: Los Angeles, that recently debuted online is a new teaser poster for the movie that puts into perspective the David-and-Goliath nature of the match-up between the U.S. Marines tasked with defending L.A. and the aliens bent on wiping out humanity and plundering the planet's resources. Written by Christopher Bertolini (The General's Daughter), Battle: Los Angeles is inspired by the 1942 "attack" on Los Angeles that conspiracy theorists and UFOlogists believe involved alien spaceships. Aaron Eckhart and Michelle Rodriguez headline the cast that also includes Michael Pena, Bridget Moynahan, Lucas Till, and singer-turned-actor Ne-Yo. Battle: Los Angeles opens March 11th.

Universal is hyping the upcoming release of writer-director-producer George Nolfi's (The Bourne Ultimatum) new romantic sci-fi thriller, The Adjustment Bureau, by releasing six new preview clips from the movie. Based on a short story by the late sci-fi author Philip K. Dick, whose works have been adapted into such movies as Blade Runner, Total Recall, Minority Report, and A Scanner Darkly, The Adjustment Bureau proposes that there is a shadowy organization working behind the scenes of everyday life to make sure that we all follow our preordained destinies.
When an aspiring politician named David (Damon) falls for a ballet dancer named Elise (Blunt), "the agents of Fate" intercede to keep the two apart because they foresee the pairing as ultimately disastrous for both parties. David, refusing to accept his fate, struggles against the seemingly all-powerful agents for the right to follow his heart.

With an obvious eye towards the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday, the latest clip released by Universal for writer-director-producer George Nolfi's (The Bourne Ultimatum) upcoming sci-fi thriller, The Adjustment Bureau, ignores the whole "sci-fi thriller" aspect of the movie and focuses on the budding love affair between the movie's protagonists, David Norris (Matt Damon), an aspiring politician, and Elise Sellas (Emily Blunt), a ballet dancer. Based on a short story by acclaimed sci-fi author Philip K. Dick, The Adjustment Bureau follows Norris and Sellas as they fight for their love against god-like "agents of Fate" responsible for making sure that everyone on Earth stays on the pre-ordained path that is set for them. Anthony Mackie, Terence Stamp, John Slattery, and Shoreh Aghdashloo also star.

When it comes to the mix of movies being offered up, not much has changed since we previewed Summer 2010 blockbusters back in September 2009. The season is still packed with sequels, remakes, comic book adaptations, and 3-D.
Meaning, fans of action/adventure movies (11), comedies (8), and chick flicks (9) are in luck, as are parents looking for a way to entertain the kids (10). But the pickings are slim for horror fans (3) and those looking for some summer drama (6) or thrilling intrigue (5). Check 'em all out in our 2010 Summer Movie Guide.
