Though American Pie set the bar for raunchy comedies a dozen years ago, the story of a group of high school kids out to lose their virginity is run-of-the-mill summer comedy fare by today's standards. The newest theatrical trailer for American Reunion focuses on the nostalgia of a high school reunion, which should give the movie a tone to set it apart from other hard-R comedies.
Though there's a hint of sweetness in the new movie, there is also a decidedly non-PG twist when the East Great Falls alums take a look back. In the new trailer, Jim (Jason Biggs) and his dad (Eugene Levy) reminisce over sticky magazines, Jim runs into a former baby-sitting charge (whom Stifler (Sean William Scott) encourages him to sleep with), and it just wouldn't be the American Pie franchise without Jim's dad giving his son the kind of advice you never want to get from a parent.

The American Pie gang hasn't been together since 2003's American Wedding when Jim (Jason Biggs) and Michelle (Alyson Hannigan) decided to tie the knot, but American Reunion has reassembled the entire cast of the first movie for, as the title implies, a high school reunion. While everyone has either wives, kids or careers, previous trailers have shown that once the East Great Falls Class of 1999 get back together, they'll learn that they still haven't figured out the whole "growing-up" thing.
The latest footage comes from an international trailer, which, while providing new footage, also reveals that the UK has titled the movie American Pie: Reunion, just in case anyone didn't realize it was a part of the American Pie franchise. Biggs and Seann William Scott (Stifler) appear as themselves to introduce the clip and, if the movie is anything like their introductory joke, the sequel's in big trouble.

The last trailer for American Reunion was a NSFW red band trailer that showed that though Jim (Jason Biggs) and Michelle (Alyson Hannigan) have adult responsibilities, the two still manage to get interrupted during some private moments. This latest trailer shows that the rest of the American Pie gang have all grown up, too — even Tara Reid!
The last time the group was together was for Jim and Michelle's nuptials in 2003's American Wedding, but a high school reunion brings the East Great Falls Class of 1999 back together to see what's different and what's the same (Seann William Scott's Stifler, obviously) after all these years. Even Jim's Dad (Eugene Levy) is in a new, single place in his life, though Stifler's Mom (Jennifer Coolidge) may not let it stay that way.

In a totally unsurprising move, a red-band trailer has been released for the fourth and final installment of the American Pie series, American Reunion. Due to what we've already seen of the franchise, it was clear that this would be a hard-R comedy, despite the sweet silliness of the first teaser trailer. That R-rating is definitely confirmed with this relatively short clip.
Once again, the East Great Falls gang manages to surprise, even when you believe yourself to be prepared for some remarkably vulgar humor. In this trailer, Jim (Jason Biggs) takes a stroll down memory lane with his much beloved sock, and we're reminded why Michelle (Alyson Hannigan) and Jim really are the made for each other.

The last time the American Pie cast got together was for 2003's American Wedding, though that didn't stop Universal from milking the franchise with four direct-to-DVD spin-offs marketed under the umbrella title of American Pie Presents, including the most recent entry, 2009's American Pie Presents: The Book of Love (Eugene "A Paycheck's a Paycheck" Levy would cameo in all four).
For the fourth installment, American Reunion, the entire original cast is back, even Tara Reid. While the actor's lives have all changed since 1999's American Pie, Seann William Scott told People that shooting the sequel was just like old times.
In many respects we've grown up a lot, but on the other hand we haven't grown up at all. On-set, Jason Biggs was farting up a storm, Chris Klein was belching, and Eddie Kaye Thomas and Biggs were hitting each other in [the groin].

With Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Chris Klein, Alyson Hannigan, Thomas Ian Nichols, Eugene Levy and the rest of the American Pie regulars set to return, the cast of American Reunion, the fourth installment in the American Pie franchise, is expanding.
Deadline reports that Jay Harrington (Better Off Ted) and Ali Cobrin (The Hole) have joined the cast. Harrington will play the doctor boyfriend of Mena Suvari's character and Cobrin will play a high school senior looking to give away her virginity to the perfect guy. While we're sure that Stifler (Scott) will try his best to prove his worth, so might Chuck Hittinger.
Variety reports Hittinger (Pretty Little Liars) has been cast as Marco, a high school jock and bully who doesn't treat his girlfriend well. Could Hittinger's girlfriend be Cobrin? It's likely, but unconfirmed.
Katrina Bowden (30 Rock, the upcoming Piranha 3DD) has also joined the cast, Variety reports separately. Bowden will play Klein's L.A. party girl-type girlfriend. You know, a Tara Reid kind of character (Reid is also returning).

The last time the cast was assembled was 2003's American Wedding, which saw Biggs' Jim and Hannigan's Michelle get married. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Hannigan revealed what's in store for American Reunion.

More actors have RSVP'd for Universal's American Reunion.
The fourth installment in the American Pie franchise gained steam last month with the news that the cast from the original were planning to return for the sequel, which Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg (Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay) are writing and directing.
Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, and Eugene Levy are already confirmed to return, and now Chris Klein will officially join them. The actor's representative told People that Klein is "very excited to reunite with the original cast."
Meanwhile, Deadline reports that Alyson Hannigan, previously a question mark, signed on to the sequel last week. Reunion will reportedly revolve around her character and Bigg's, and the family they've had since getting married in 2003's American Wedding.

American Pie 4 has been in the works for a while, with Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay writer/directors Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg announcing last April that they intended to direct the fourth installment of the franchise instead of A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas.
The Wrap reports that the upcoming sequel, titled American Reunion, is intending to bring back to original cast for another sequel, the first theatrical sequel since 2003's American Wedding. Jason Biggs and Seann William Scott are already signed to return as is Eugene Levy — no surprise there, since Levy appeared in all four direct-to-DVD American Pie Presents "comedies" such as 2009's American Pie Presents: The Book of Love. Scott's recent admission to a treatment program for "health and personal issues" is not expected to affect the production.
