[Director] Craven stumbles throughout the film's top-heavy 107 minutes, but the fact that he's earnestly trying to make an on-the-level, snark-free horror flick signals a welcome sea change in his career.

Wes Craven, who's currently working on Scream 4, has another horror movie coming out this year. In My Soul to Take, the legendary horror director delves into 3-D to tell the story of a serial killer who promises to kill children born the night he died. It's sort of a mix between A Nightmare on Elm Street and Shocker, which seems about right since Craven directed both of those movies. The recently released trailer for My Soul to Take has a slight homage to Nightmare on Elm Street, and who better than Craven, himself, to create one?
