Bomb of the Week: Word got out on the crappiness of stoner pic Your Highness as it didn't even make the top five. Posted 04.11.11 by reelz
Your Highness is the most critically divisive movie of 2011. Whether you love it or hate it apparently depends on how much you like penis jokes.

"...a hilarious adventure that's as dirty as the dung our heroes trudge on."— Peter Paras, E! Online
"...a gratuitous, inventive, and thoroughly outlandish take on Tolkien lore..."— Chris Cabin, filmcritic.com
"To fully appreciate the extreme lowness of Your Highness, it's best to accept that this sometimes witless and sometimes winning comedy has absolutely no socially redeeming value."— Betsy Sharkey, Los Angeles Times
"...a witless medieval stoner comedy..."— Peter Debruge, Variety
"Your Highness ... falls ... into a deep chasm of such comic lowness after less than five minutes that it's unable to extricate itself. Things get so bad you half expect a cameo by Nicolas Cage."— Kirk Honeycutt, Hollywood Reporter
"...an epic, unwatchable disaster."— Andrew O'Hehir, Salon
Universal has released a variety of new preview clips for their upcoming comedy, Your Highness, which reteams Pineapple Express co-stars James Franco and Danny McBride with their Pineapple Express director David Gordon Green.
However, instead of being a modern-day stoner comedy, Your Highness is a stoner comedy set in medieval times with Franco and McBride playing Prince Fabious and Prince Thadeous, respectively, two brothers who set out on a journey to save Franco's fiance from the evil wizard Leezar (Justin Theroux). Along the way, the Princes meet up with warrior princess Isabel (Natalie Portman), who aids them on their quest. watch the clips >> Posted 03.31.11 by Ryan
Director David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, All the Real Girls) was supposed to shoot his Suspiria remake last year, but with Green's Your Highness finally opening next month, the movie could be getting closer to production.
Green first wrote the script for the remake in 2008, revealing that he planned to make a "beautiful horror movie" that goes for "the vivid technicolor achievement of The Red Shoes with the intensity and fear and anxiety of The Silence of the Lambs." Green claimed later that his Suspiria would be "in the spirit" of what director Dario Argento did in the 1977 original.
In a recent interview with The Playlist, Green revealed that he wants to shoot Suspiria "next". is natalie portman still attached? >> Posted 03.29.11 by Ryan
As evidenced in the previously released red band trailer for Your Highness, Academy Award-nominee James Franco and Academy Award-winner Natalie Portman weren't going for more nominations in Universal Pictures' upcoming comedy.
Set in the Middle Ages, Your Highness follows Franco and Pineapple Express co-star Danny McBride as Prince Fabious and Prince Thadeous, respectively, who embark on a quest to save Fabious' bride-to-be, Belladonna (Zooey Deschanel) after she is kidnapped by an evil wizard (Justin Theroux). Joining the brothers is warrior princess Isabel (Portman), who is romantically pursued by Prince Thadeous in several failed attempts in the latest red band trailer. Several new movie posters for a pair of period fantasy movies have recently been released. Universal Pictures has released three new character posters for director David Gordon Green's (Pineapple Express) upcoming fantasy comedy, Your Highness, that feature the trio of heroes at the heart of the movie: Fabious (Academy Award-nominee James Franco), Thadeous (Danny McBride) and Isabel (Academy Award-winner Natalie Portman).
When Fabious' bride-to-be, Belladonna (Zooey Deschanel), is kidnapped by an evil wizard (Justin Theroux), the king (Charles Dance) orders slacker Prince Thadeous to accompany his noble brother Prince Fabious on the rescue mission or face being cut off from his royal inheritance. Along the way, they receive assistance from Isabel, a warrior princess and unlikely love interest for Thadeous. Your Highness opens April 8th. check out two more posters and some mermaid concept art >> Posted 03.15.11 by BrentJS
A new TV spot for Universal Pictures' upcoming fantasy comedy, Your Highness, recently aired and it can now be viewed online. Directed by David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express), Your Highness stars Academy Award-nominee James Franco and Danny McBride as Fabious and Thadeous, two brothers in line for the throne who couldn't be more different. When Fabious' bride-to-be, Belladonna (Zooey Deschanel), is kidnapped by the evil wizard Leezar (Justin Theroux), slacker Thadeous is forced to accompany noble Fabious on his quest to rescue his fiancé and defeat Leezar or risk being cut off from the royal life by their father, the king (Charles Dance). watch the new TV spot >> Posted 03.03.11 by BrentJS
At the risk of Natalie Portman overkill (the Black Swan star announced earlier this week she was not only pregnant but engaged), there are new trailers for her upcoming movies The Other Woman (which was originally called Love and Other Impossible Pursuits) and the comedy Your Highness. James Franco and Natalie Portman may be looking at possible Oscar drama nominations coming early next year, but come April, the two actors will team up for Universal's comedy, Your Highness. Directed by Pineapple Express' director David Gordon Green, Your Highness follows Danny McBride as Thadeous, a lazy, slacker prince who must join his brother Fabious (Franco) on a quest to save Fabious' bride-to-be, Belladonna ( Zooey Deschanel). Portman plays McBride's love interest, an elusive warrior named Isabel. watch the trailer >> Posted 12.22.10 by Ryan
The first Red Band trailer for Universal Pictures' upcoming fantasy comedy, Your Highness, is now online and it features a lot more "blue humor" than your typical medieval movie. Helmed by Pineapple Express director David Gordon Green, Your Highness stars James Franco and Danny McBride as Fabious and Thadeous, two brothers in line for the throne with decidedly different talents and views on life. While Fabious is a noble adventurer beloved by the masses, Thadeous is a wizard weed-smoking boozer and layabout with a fondness for easy maidens. When Fabious' bride-to-be, Belladonna ( Zooey Deschanel), is kidnapped by an evil wizard (Justin Theroux), the king orders Thadeous to help his brother reclaim his fiancé or lose his place at the royal table forever. Natalie Portman and Michael Clarke Duncan also star. Posted 11.17.10 by BrentJS
