Over the summer, Horrible Bosses was one of several R-rated comedies to find success at the box office, earning $209 million worldwide on a $35 million budget. Shortly after the movie's July opening, director Seth Gordon revealed that a sequel was in discussions, talks which were confirmed last night when Horrible Bosses II was reportedly given the greenlight, with all three leads (Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis) set to return for the sequel. Only, the cast isn't set to return — at least not yet.
While talking to Vulture, Sudeikis revealed that "none" of the cast are signed for the sequel, and the news that the cast were coming back "surprised all of us."

With the success of the comedy hit, Horrible Bosses, screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein have signed on to make the sequel, Horrible Bosses 2, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Horrible Bosses only cost $35 million to make and grossed over $209 million worldwide, it's fair to say that's reason enough to green light a sequel.
In the original, Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis are three miserable employees who plan to off their no good bosses, Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston and Colin Farrell. They enlist the help of a murder adviser played by Jamie Foxx. No word on which members of the cast will return but Batemen, Sudeikis, and Day are expected back along with director Seth Gordon.

The R–comedies of the summer season have found remarkable success so far, with The Hangover 2 edging out Bridesmaids for the top grosser with $527 million worldwide (though Bridesmaids' $168 million-and-counting worldwide take is also impressive). While Bad Teacher couldn't match up against the family–friendly 3-D of Cars 2, the Cameron Diaz comedy still fared well, opening to $31 million last weekend.
Warner Bros. is hoping to continue the success they had found with The Hangover Part II with director Seth Gordon's Horrible Bosses, which follows three friends (Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis) who band together to kill their respective employers (Colin Farrell, Jennifer Aniston, and Kevin Spacey). The premise certainly seems like one audiences can get behind, since many are likely have the same fantasy. To help promote the movie, the studio has released three preview clips to Yahoo! to give audiences a taste of the movie before it opens next month.

Director Seth Gordon's upcoming comedy Horrible Bosses sees three friends (Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis) deciding their lives would better if they could end the lives of their three bosses (Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston, and Colin Farrell).
The movie has had TV spots and a trailer that helped introduce the movie's plot to potential audiences, as well as a preview clip that showed why Spacey made the list. What the movie hasn't had was something that showed off the movie's R-rated sensibilities — until Warner Bros. released a new red band trailer. Among the previously unseen footage, the trailer includes a scene that reveals the name of Jamie Foxx's "murder consultant" character (hint: rhymes with "brother hugger") and why he needs to go by that name.

Warner Bros.' upcoming comedy Horrible Bosses takes a fairly common working class fantasy — killing one's boss — and spins it with comedy's proverbial "rule of threes" — three friends (Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis) and three bosses (Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston and Colin Farrell).
The first trailer revealed the movie's storyline, while the first preview clip and TV spots have concentrated on the three friends and poor attempts at becoming murderers, including looking for a hitman over the Internet.
Yahoo has revealed the second preview clip, which shows Bateman's motivation behind killing his boss, after Mr. Harken (Spacey) grossly overlooks Bateman for a promotion that was promised to him. To make matters worse, Spacey's character clearly did not have a loving bond with his grandmother.

Two new TV spots have arrived online for Warner Bros.' upcoming comedy Horrible Bosses. Directed by Seth Gordon (Four Christmases, TV's The Office), Horrible Bosses centers around three friends — Nick (Jason Bateman), Dale (Charlie Day) and Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) — who are so fed up with their employers — Mr. Harken (Kevin Spacey), Dr. Harris (Jennifer Aniston) and Mr. Pellitt (Colin Farrell) — that they decide to have them killed.
The first trailer released for the movie did a good job of introducing the storyline, while the following preview clip showed Day, Sudeikis and Bateman surveying the home of Pellitt (Farrell). The two TV spots are concerned with the three friends' effort to hire a hitman, which, of course, isn't as easy as they thought it would be.

Warner Bros. has released a set of six new character posters for its upcoming black comedy, Horrible Bosses. Directed by Seth Gordon (Four Christmases, TV's The Office), the movie centers around three friends — Nick (Jason Bateman), Dale (Charlie Day) and Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) — disgruntled employees who feel that they would be happier if they did away with their bosses—Mr. Harken (Kevin Spacey), Dr. Harris (Jennifer Aniston) and Mr. Pellitt (Colin Farrell), respectively. Jamie Foxx, Donald Sutherland, and Julie Bowen also star. Horrible Bosses opens July 8th.
