A new preview clip has been released from director Kelly Asbury's (Shrek 2) upcoming 3-D CG-animated movie, Gnomeo and Juliet, Touchstone Pictures' first G-rated family movie opening nationwide tomorrow. Loosely based on William Shakespeare's classic play about star-crossed lovers, Gnomeo and Juliet tells the story of two garden gnomes (voiced by James McAvoy and Emily Blunt) from neighboring yards who fall in love despite the wishes of their respective garden gnome clans, the "Blues" and the "Reds."
The new clip focuses on another one of the gnomes involved in the quarrel between the clans, Tybalt (Jason Statham), a curmudgeon of a gnome from Juliet's clan previously seen in a clip involving lawnmower racing.

In the latest preview clip from Touchstone Pictures' first ever G-rated family movie, the 3-D CG-animated movie Gnomeo and Juliet, we see that love at first sight sometimes comes with its share of complications, especially when those getting smitten are two garden gnomes (voiced by James McAvoy and Emily Blunt) from competing yards.
Directed by Kelly Asbury (Shrek 2), Gnomeo and Juliet is an adaptation of William Shakespeare's classic play about star-crossed lovers and includes the voice talents of Jason Statham, Sir Patrick Stewart and two-time Academy Award-winners Sir Michael Caine and Dame Maggie Smith.

A new preview clip from director Kelly Asbury's (Shrek 2) upcoming 3-D CG-animated movie, Gnomeo and Juliet, joins the pair of new clips recently released by Touchstone Pictures. Gnomeo and Juliet tells the story of William Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers from the perspective of a pair of adventurous garden gnomes (voiced by James McAvoy and Emily Blunt) from neighboring yards. Previous clips have focused on the love story at the heart of the movie and on the parallels between it and Shakespeare's classic play, but this new clip reveals that there is plenty of fun and adventure to be had as well, as Gnomeo and Tybalt (Jason Statham) race down the alley on a pair of souped-up lawnmowers.

Much of the recent movie news involving actor James McAvoy has centered around his portrayal of the classic Marvel Comics character Charles "Prof. X" Xavier in director Matthew Vaughn's upcoming X-Men trilogy prequel, X-Men: First Class. But, before McAvoy will be using his mind-bending powers as the founder of a school for gifted youngsters (aka mutants) on screen, he will be lending his voice to a little blue garden gnome in Touchstone's 3-D CG-animated movie Gnomeo and Juliet, a modern retelling of Shakespeare's classic tale about two star-crossed lovers. Touchstone recently released two new preview clips from the movie and, in a recent interview with Collider, McAvoy discussed finding his voice for the role and the difficulty of making a movie for kids that is based on a story about sex and suicide.

Based on William Shakespeare's classic play, the movie follows a pair of star-crossed garden gnomes (voiced by James McAvoy and Emily Blunt) who get caught up in a feud between rival neighbors.

New teaser posters have recently been released for two upcoming 3-D CGI animated movies. Directed by Kelly Asbury (Shrek 2), Gnomeo and Juliet also features the voice talents of Sir Patrick Stewart, Jason Statham, Dolly Parton, Hulk Hogan and two-time Academy Award-winner Sir Michael Caine. The movie opens February 11, 2011.
