The Chinese New Year kicks off on February 3rd, marking the beginning of the Year of the Rabbit. But, ask DreamWorks Animation and they will tell you that 2011 (4708 on the Chinese calendar) is the "Year of Awesomeness" because it will see the debut of the sequel to Kung Fu Panda.
Still, DreamWorks is willing to share the year's title with the Chinese and even released a "Happy Chinese New Year" teaser video featuring the Dragon Warrior, Po (Jack Black) and the Furious Five — Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Crane (David Cross), Mantis (Seth Rogen), and Viper (Lucy Liu).

According to the Chinese Zodiac, 2011 is the Year of the Rabbit, but ask DreamWorks Animation and it is "The Year of Awesomeness" because 2011 will see the release of Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom. Jack Black returns as the voice of Po, now protecting the Valley of Peace as the Dragon Warrior.However, when Po's new life of awesomeness is upset by the emergence of a mysterious villain bent on unleashing a weapon that will destroy the power of kung fu, he must reunite with the Furious Five—Tigress ( Angelina Jolie), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Crane (David Cross), Mantis (Seth Rogen) and Viper (Lucy Liu)—in an adventure that will take them across China and into Po's past to find the power to vanquish this new threat.

New teaser posters have recently been released for two upcoming 3-D CGI animated movies. First up, Touchstone'sGnomeo and Juliet, a modern retelling of Shakespeare's tale of star-crossed lovers, told from the perspective of a pair of garden gnomes (voiced by James McAvoy, Emily Blunt) who get caught up in a feud between neighbors. Directed by Kelly Asbury (Shrek 2), Gnomeo and Juliet also features the voice talents of Sir Patrick Stewart, Jason Statham, Dolly Parton, Hulk Hogan and two-time Academy Award-winner Sir Michael Caine. The movie opens February 11, 2011.

DreamWorks Animation has been trickling out promotional materials for its upcoming sequel to Kung Fu Panda over the last couple of days. First, the Kung Fu Panda website was updated with a new "2" logo and an official synopsis of the sequel, titled Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom. Shortly thereafter, the first trailer for the movie was released. Now, DreamWorks has unveiled the first teaser posterfor the movie featuring a high-kicking Po preparing to "skadoosh" all over the place.
Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom was directed by Jennifer Yuh and features the voices of Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, David Cross, Lucy Liu, Gary Oldman, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Michelle Yeoh, and Victor Garber.

The synopsis for Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom was recently released and now DreamWorks Animation has revealed the teaser trailer for their upcoming sequel. Jack Black and Angelina Jolie return to lend their voices as Po and Tigress, respectively, and are joined by Seth Rogen, David Cross, Lucy Liu, and new additions Gary Oldman, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Michelle Yeoh. This time around, Po and company have to vanquish a new threat that could destroy kung fu. We have a sneaking suspicion that they'll find a way.

DreamWorks Animation is gearing up for another round of hilarious anthropomorphic martial arts action in Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom by updating the website for Kung Fu Panda with a new logo featuring "2" on it and by adding an official synopsis of the sequel that seems to reveal the meaning of the subtitle of the movie.
