With Drive Angry opening tomorrow, Lionsgate has released a new preview clip for the 3-D supernatural action movie, which sees Nicolas Cage playing Milton, a man who returns from Hell to save his infant granddaughter from being sacrificed by the same cult that murdered his daughter. The preview clips released earlier this week saw Cage's Milton meet Piper (Amber Heard), who partners with Milton to help him, and a confrontation between Milton and "The Accountant" (William Fichter), an operative of Satan who is trying to bring Milton back to Hell. In the newest clip, Heard gets into a fistfight with the leader of the cult (Billy Burke), while Cage offers another driver a lesson on following too close.

In anticipation of its Friday opening, Lionsgate has released four new preview clips from its new 3-D supernatural revenge movie, Drive Angry. Written by Todd Farmer and directed by Patrick Lussier, the duo behind My Bloody Valentine 3-D, Drive Angry stars Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage as Milton—an obvious nod to 17th-century English poet John Milton, writer of the epic poem "Paradise Lost" about man's expulsion from the Garden of Eden—a damned soul who escapes from hell to save his granddaughter from being sacrificed at the next full moon by the same satanic cult that has already murdered his daughter. Pursued by the police and by the devil's errand boy, "The Accountant" (William Fichter), Milton needs the help of Piper (Amber Heard) and her muscle car if he's going to save his granddaughter and redeem his soul.

Joining the list of movies that will be advertised during this weekend's Super Bowl XLV is Lionsgate's new 3-D supernatural revenge movie, Drive Angry, starring Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage as a damned soul who escapes from hell to save his granddaughter from being sacrificed by a satanic cult. Like DreamWorks and Disney, who recently revealed their TV spots in part or in full, Lionsgate has released a preview clip of the new TV spot that will air during one of the commercial breaks.

In the recently released Season of the Witch, Nicolas Cage played a 14th-century knight tasked with bringing a supposed witch to a monastery, which hasn't fared well at the box office.
Cage's latest, Drive Angry, also deals with the supernatural with Cage playing a recently-deceased criminal who breaks out of hell and teams up with a waitress (Amber Heard) to bring down a cult leader (Billy Burke) who is planning to sacrifice Cage's infant granddaughter. On Cage's trail is Satan's "Accountant" (William Fichter), featured in a previously released preview clip. While both Drive Angry and Season of the Witch deal with supernatural elements, the latest poster and TV spot separates Drive Angry with a few key differences: Cage's long, blond hair wig, 3-D, and a campy quality that shows screenwriter Todd Farmer and director Patrick Lussier are hoping audiences will have a good time with this guilty pleasure.

Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage's new supernatural movie, Season of the Witch, is a big bomb at the box office and Summit Entertainment seems determined to avoid the same fate by hiding the supernatural elements in the latest Cage "vehicle," Drive Angry.
The movie tells the story of Milton (Cage), a damned soul who escapes from hell to save his granddaughter from being sacrificed by the same cult that murdered his daughter. Pursued by Satan's "Accountant" (William Fichter), Cage must "drive angry" if he has any hope of rescuing his granddaughter before he is sent packing back to the pits of hell. Based on the premise, one would think that the movie would be chock-full of supernatural elements, but there are none in sight in the new TV spot and preview clip Summit recently released to promote the movie.

Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage has admitted to having an attraction to playing "characters that raise more questions than answers," but perhaps he should have said that he has a propensity for playing characters at odds with the devil. In Ghost Rider, Cage played Johnny Blaze, a stunt rider who attempts to break a contract with an incarnation of the devil called Mephistopheles (played by Peter Fonda), a role he will reprise in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. In his latest movie, Drive Angry, Cage plays Milton, a damned soul who defies the devil to escape from hell and save the life of his granddaughter.
The supernatural plot elements of Drive Angry were a mystery for a long time, with even the first teaser trailer looking simply like a '70s revenge movie. However, the new trailer and the official synopsis of the movie that were recently released make it clear that Cage will be dueling with the demonic once again.
