For our Holiday Movie Guide here's what we said about The Warrior's Way: "Promoted as 'from the producers of Lord of the Rings' and 'starring international superstar Jang Dong-gun' (who we've never heard of before), this pic takes the award for most interesting mash-up, blending western and samurai with action and romance. Bloody New Red Band Clip from The Warrior's Way

A new Red Band clip from Relativity Media's upcoming martial arts-Western mash-up, The Warrior's Way, has just been released, and it offers a small taste of some of the movie's bloody ninja action. Written and directed by newcomer Sngmoo Lee and produced by Barrie M. Osborne (The Lord of the Rings trilogy), The Warrior's Way stars South Korean actor and musician Dong-Gun Jang as Yang, the world's greatest swordsman. Tired of constantly fighting and killing, Yang flees to the American Badlands on a quest for peace and contentment, but his warrior clan will not allow him to leave so easily. They pursue him to the dusty town where he is hiding out and Yang, with the aid of the town drunk (Academy Award-winner Geoffrey Rush) and a knife-throwing circus performer (Kate Bosworth), must fend off an army of ninjas in order to save himself and the town from destruction.

Geoffrey Rush Explains the Delay of The Warrior's Way

Academy Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush will end the year in two projects that seem polar opposites: One is the British period drama The King's Speech, which many, including us, think will be a lock for Rush to get another Oscar nomination; and The Warrior's Way, a blend of the Western and martial arts genres written and directed by newcomer Sngmoo Lee. The King's Speech opened over the weekend in limited release; The Warrior's Way opens December 3. Rush explained to Movieline the delay for the movie, which was shot in "late-2007 into early-2008."

Visually, it’s an extraordinary piece of work, and we were working within the studio’s set, but I’d say 90 percent of the film happens in a permanent sense of sunset. Because of its very conscious Asian aesthetic, it just has a red, twilight sky throughout it all of the time. I think in post-production the financial crises hit, and the budget kind of went a bit wonky because of the amount of CGI that was needed.

New Still Images and Clips from The Warrior's Way

A huge batch of new still images and behind-the-scenes photos from the set of Relativity Media's upcoming action movie, The Warrior's Way, have been released, along with five new clips from the movie. Written and directed by newcomer Sngmoo Lee and produced by Barrie M. Osborne (The Lord of the Rings trilogy), The Warrior's Way is a visually stunning martial arts-Western mash-up that stars South Korean actor and musician Dong-Gun Jang as Yang, a powerful warrior assassin who flees the Far East to find peace and contentment in a dusty town in the Old West. But, Yang is not allowed to "retire" so easily, as he is tracked to the Badlands and set upon by an army of ninjas. Once again, Yang must follow the way of the warrior in order to save himself and the town from the ninja threat. He is aided by two unlikely allies in the town drunk (Academy Award-winner Geoffrey Rush) and in a knife-throwing circus performer (Kate Bosworth). Danny Huston and Tony Cox also star.

Two new TV spots have recently been released for Relativity Media's upcoming martial arts-Western mash-up, The Warrior's Way. Even Yang's formidable abilities are no match for a ninja army, but he finds that he has some unlikely allies in the town drunk (Academy Award-winner Geoffrey Rush) and in a circus performer (Kate Bosworth) who has a knack for throwing knives. New Character Posters and Still Images from The Warrior's Way

The first trailer for writer-director Sngmoo Lee's martial arts-Western mash-up, The Warrior's Way, recently debuted in theaters before making its way online and now four new character posters and two new still images from the movie have been released. The movie follows the powerful warrior assassin Yang (Dong-Gun Jang) as he flees the Far East to find peace, contentment and maybe even love in the Old West. Cornered in a dusty town in the Badlands by an army of ninjas with extraordinary abilities, Yang finds unlikely allies in the town drunk (Academy Award-winner Geoffrey Rush) and in a circus knife thrower (Kate Bosworth).
