What writer-director Michael J. Weithorn, a sitcom vet, gets right is the Long Island vibe, the New York smarts crossed with small-town insularity. If the film takes too long to reach its rather soft denouement, Fischer makes Laura's awakening convincing.

Jenna Fischer's A Little Help Trailer Debuts [video]

Jenna Fischer has always played a great supporting character. On The Office, she was the ying to Michael's yang as his secretary. In movies like Hall Pass, Walk Hard, and Blades of Glory, she played second fiddle to the Owen Wilson, John C. Reilly, and Will Ferrell. But in her new indie, Fischer finally gets that starring role where she's the one with all the jokes.
In A Little Help she plays the wife of a cheating husband (Chris O'Donnell) who dies suddenly and she's left to clean up the mess he made. She also has to deal with her 12-year-old son who likes to tell people at school that his father died in 9/11 (yep, there are 9/11 jokes in this movie).
