With the end of the year came an abundance of lists from critics and fans alike for the top movies of 2011. However, a new list has been released that deserves a true movie-lover's attention — one from writer/director/producer Quentin Tarantino.
True to Tarantino form, his list contains some surprises (mostly mainstream movies?) and is heavily action, horror, and sci-fi saturated. See which movies made Tarantino's list >> Posted 01.17.12 by reelz
The internet can be so useful. For one thing, it's a great way to avoid FCC regulations.
Earlier this week, ABC refused to air an ad for Our Idiot Brother unless the Weinstein Company cut out the parts that the network objected to. Instead of eliminating the "offensive" parts of the original TV spot, TWC decided not only to cut a brand new trailer, but to cut a much naughtier red band trailer. It's even dedicated to ABC.
We'd like to dedicate our new red-band trailer for 'Our Idiot Brother' to the conscientious censors at ABC and their concerned brethren everywhere. Enjoy!!
While this whole argument with ABC was probably a ploy to get some free publicity, this trailer is pretty enjoyable. While the other spots for Our Idiot Brother were cute, this is the first one that made us laugh out loud. In fact, it should probably get a "Best Use of Hand Sanitizer for Comedic Purposes" award. What should you serve the next time your idiot brother drops by?
You might want to try one of the specialty cocktails served at the Our Idiot Brother After Party last night — Purity Southside, Ned's Juice, and The Idealist — created by Purity Vodka.
Hey, if they're good enough for Paul Rudd and Elizabeth Banks, they'll be good enough for your bro... Or any other idiot you may have in your life. Our Idiot Brother opens in theaters August 26. Get your muddler ready and go to the recipes >> Posted 08.17.11 by reelz
So far this summer, the biggest surprise has been the success of nearly every R-Rated comedy that has been released. The Hangover Part II kicked things off in May, earning $527 million worldwide, while Bridesmaids, Bad Teacher and Horrible Bosses have all gone on to earn (so far) $168 million, $247 million and $114 million, respectively, worldwide. That gives a wide berth of hope for The Weinstein Company's upcoming Our Idiot Brother.
Starring Paul Rudd as a hippie farmer so naive that he sells marijuana to an uniformed police officer, Our Idiot Brother's story takes off after Rudd moves back in with his family. A second trailer for the movie debuted in June that showed some of the movie's heart, while the three, recently released preview clips are trying to show off the movie's humor. watch the clips >> Posted 08.05.11 by Ryan
The first trailer for Our Idiot Brother debuted in April, which revealed a promising comedy from director Jesse Peretz (The Ex). The movie stars Paul Rudd as a hippie farmer with good intentions but still dim enough to sell marijuana to a police officer. Once he's released from jail, he is forced to live with his sisters (Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer) while he puts his life back together.
A new poster and trailer have debuted for Our Idiot Brother, which received excellent reviews when it debuted at Sundance earlier this year. The latest trailer uses some new footage, but is still fairly similar to the previous trailer. What this trailer does reveal is that there is some heart to the story outside of giving Rudd an opportunity to play a complete moron. watch the trailer >> Posted 06.15.11 by Ryan
The first trailer for Our Idiot Brother (formerly My Idiot Brother) has been released online, making it the second well-reviewed 2011 Sundance Film Festival indie to get a theatrical trailer this week after Another Earth. Written by Evegenia Peretz and David Schisgall from a story by Evegenia and director Jesse Peretz, the movie stars Paul Rudd as Ned, an idealistic hippie with a sunny disposition who intrudes on the lives of his three sisters—career-oriented Miranda (Elizabeth Banks), bisexual hipster Natalie ( Zooey Deschanel) and perfect mother Liz (Emily Mortimer)—after getting out of jail to find that his girlfriend has dumped him. read the synopsis and watch the trailer >> Posted 04.24.11 by BrentJS
