We laughed (at how bad the movie was), we cried (because we didn't see a different movie), we kissed eight bucks (or ten or twelve or sixteen, depending upon the format) good-bye!
Stale jokes, missing plots, phone-in performances...too often this summer movie season, we found ourselves scratching our heads in wonder at how actors and directors we have come to respect could have strayed so far off course. We probably should have gone back to the box office and demanded a refund for some of the stinkers we endured this summer. If you feel the same way, vent your frustration by helping us rate the Top 10 Worst Movies of the 2012 summer movie season.

Anyone who saw Piranha 3-D knows that even though Ving Rhames survived the invasion, he did so without his legs. That doesn't stop him from appearing in the over-the-top sequel. Rhames shows off his new-and-improved check out the adults-only clip >> Posted 05.18.12 by Chris
legsweapons as he again takes on those pesky piranhas in the new "Bring Me My Legs" clip.
Few celebrities have ventured into the dank tunnels of self-parody and emerged into pop culture consciousness more well-loved by audiences than David Hasselhoff — well, next to William Shatner, of course. The Knight Rider/Bay Watcher/Sponge Bob Man-Boat who, when he isn't scouring the planet for a good cheeseburger or singing the praises of du, has appeared (usually as himself) in more places than we can count.
Oh, there he is again... saving a "ginger" boy from a pool full of blood-thirsty piranhas. The Hoff's latest cameo is in the upcoming ichthyan bloodfest, Piranha 3DD, which opens in theaters on June 1st. In the clip a disaffected Hasselhoff poses as the celebrity lifeguard for The Big Wet Water Park, red trunks and all, only to find redemption in the frantic cries of a young boy. When we heard Gary Busey was cast in this summer's Piranha 3DD, we knew to expect epic craziness. We were not proven wrong.
First, we had Busey explain that he plays a farmer who has piranhas rain down on him after "a cow explodes because of its farting ability." Today, we have a new blooper reel in which Busey talks about flinging "fish Frisbees," explains the real acronym to FART, and offers this argument for why we should go see Piranha 3DD:
See the movie so you won't see piranhas showing up at your house dressed as... However they want to dress, they're still piranhas. Just watch the damn movie. watch the blooper reel >> Posted 05.08.12 by Chris
Anyone who saw 2010's Piranha 3D knows director Alexandre Aja's commitment to showing the prehistoric creatures' victims in various forms of undress, something the first trailer for sequel Piranha 3DD seemed very interested in repeating.
A second trailer followed earlier this month, but now that Dimension has finally scheduled a June 1 release date for Piranha 3DD, the studio has unveiled a red band trailer for the sequel that is essentially the same as the second trailer, showing the creatures as they make their way into Big Wet waterpark to wreck havoc once more, and showcasing David Hasselhoff's cameo. In the red band trailer, however, it's not the gore that's at the forefront but the nudity, as it takes less than 10 seconds to showcase the more revealing footage. watch the trailer >> Posted 03.20.12 by Ryan
Last October, Dimension released the teaser trailer for Piranha 3DD, which made good promotional sense since the movie was scheduled to open in November. However, the studio then moved the sequel's release from November to an unspecified 2012 date. Curiously, Dimension has now released the first full-length trailer for the movie, even though it still lacks a scheduled release (though it will appear on DVD in March in the UK).
Like the teaser, Piranha 3DD is filled with gore and bikini-clad bodies as the sequel takes the body count from a lakeside resort town to a waterpark called the Big Wet. More of David Hasselhoff's cameo is featured, as well as footage of Gary Busey's appearance. Last November, Busey revealed that he played a "farmer" who has piranhas rain down on him after "a cow explodes because of its farting ability." While Busey's comments seemed ridiculous at the time, the eccentric actor does appear dressed like a farmer in the trailer. watch the trailer >> Posted 03.01.12 by Ryan
In October, Dimension released the teaser trailer for Piranha 3DD, just a week after the studio moved the movie from its November 23rd opening for an unspecified 2012 release date. The move seemed to suggest that the sequel to 2010's Piranha 3D was in trouble, but the trailer, which revealed more bikini-clad bodies and David Hasselhoff's cameo seemed to counter any negative speculation by appearing to be a movie shot in the same campy spirit as the original.
In the intervening months, however, no new date for Piranha 3DD had been announced. Until now. Digital Spy (via The Playlist) recently reported that Piranha 3DD would be released on DVD in the UK in March, a move that appeared to damn a theatrical release. With a DVD release only two and a half months away, would Dimension have enough time to mount a promotional campaign for Piranha 3DD? Shock Till You Drop turned to director John Gulager (Feast) for answers, and the director responded with an email that explained what was happening with Piranha 3DD. what did Gulager say about the US release? >> Posted 01.03.12 by Ryan
The first trailer for the upcoming Piranha 3D sequel, Piranha 3DD, revealed how David Hasselhoff was going to be utilized in the movie, but did not reveal how the movie's other cameo, Gary Busey, will appear — Busey was cast in April, but his role was unspecified. Leave it to Busey himself to explain what his part is during an interview with Empire. Whether Busey is telling the truth or not is up to you to decide.

I play a farmer. A cow explodes because of its farting ability and out of it come hundreds of piranha, raining down on me. You'll see how I treat one of them.
Academy Award–winning director and 3-D enthusiast James Cameron may not have been a fan of last year's Piranha 3D, saying it "what we should not be doing in 3-D", but audiences didn't seem to mind as Piranaha 3D ultimately earned $83 million worldwide. A sequel, Piranha 3DD, was announced days after the original opened.
Instead of attacking revelers at a Lake Victoria, this time around the underwater creatures have made their way to a newly opened water park called "Big Wet," which presumably uses either fresh or salt water (though, as Christopher Lloyd's returning character Mr. Goodman points out, the piranha have "evolved" — so perhaps they can live in chlorinated water as well). What hasn't evolved in the sequels intentions... A positive for fans. watch the trailer >> Posted 10.20.11 by Ryan
The campiness of Piranha 3DD just keeps getting better. Dimension Films announced in a press release today that David Hasselhoff has been added to the cast. This former Baywatch lifeguard seems the perfect choice to battle carnivorous prehistoric fish at The Big Wet Water Park.
He is joining a cast that includes Ving Rhames (whose character apparently never died in Piranha 3D, even if audiences assumed he had), Christoper Lloyd, and the incomparable Gary Busey.
Other castmates and possible fish bait for this John Gulager-directed masterpiece include Katrina Bowden, Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, David Koechner, Meagan Tandy, Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Hector Jimenez, Adrian Martinez, and Clu Gulager
