Today Abduction releases on DVD... and on Facebook. For $3.99 you get Abduction for 48 hours along with access to an exclusive interview with star Taylor Lautner. Facebook's functionality lets you comment on individual scenes as they are happening, and then displays your comments when one of your friends watches the movie on the social media site.
While other studios have experimented with offering previously released movies for rental on Facebook, Lionsgate is the first to offer a movie the same day as its DVD release. What do you think of the idea? Let us know in the comments below.

Attention Team Jacob: The red carpet arrivals at the premiere of Abduction are going to be streaming live this evening on the movie's Facebook page from 6-9 pm PT. Stars Taylor Lautner, Lily Collins, Alfred Molina, Sigourney Weaver, director John Singleton and more are planning to attend. We're a little sad that Lautner will most likely be formally dressed and, therefore, probably wearing a shirt, but it should still be fun to watch.
If you can't catch it tonight, or if you just want to see it again, the highlights will be on tomorrow's Hollywood Dailies on ReelzChannel. Abduction opens nationwide September 23.

In Abduction, the new thriller from Academy Award-nominated director John Singleton (Boyz n the Hood), Taylor Lautner (The Twilight Saga) plays Nathan Harper, an average teenager who discovers that everything he knows about himself might be a lie after finding his photo on a missing children website. Harper is depicted as a Bourne-esque character in the last pair of preview clips released to promote the movie, leaping from a moving vehicle into the unknown to avoid his mysterious pursuers and then going mano-a-mano against a hired assassin ... and winning. As bad as he may be, however, even Harper is forced to get down on the ground and take cover when a gunman starts taking pot shots at him in the latest preview clip from the movie.

Those are the questions facing Taylor Lautner's character, Nathan Harper, in Abduction, the new thriller from Academy Award-nominated director John Singleton (Boyz n the Hood). After discovering a photo of himself as a child on a missing persons website, Nathan confronts his so-called parents, only to watch them get murdered right before his eyes. Pursued by both government agents and trained assassins, Nathan flees with the one person he feels he can still trust, his neighbor, Karen (Lily Collins). Two new preview clips offer sneak peeks at what happens next as Nathan is forced to leap into action to save himself and his friend and to stay alive long enought to discover the truth behind his real identity.

Of course everybody's waiting to see Jacob Black in November's Breaking Dawn Part 1, but luckily in the meantime we get Taylor Lautner as Nathan Harper in Abduction.
Thanks to Access Hollywood, we have a quick, behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming action thriller. In the clip, Jason Isaacs tells us about Lautner's mad martial-arts skills, Lautner and director John Singleton talk about the stunt they filmed at PNC Park, and producer Lee Stollman proclaims that Lautner is a superstar (duh). Can't wait to see Taylor Lautner in Abduction? While there's still a little over a month until the September 23 release, at least glimpses of the movie are starting to come more steadily.
The newest trailer was released late last week and today there are two new stills via Shockya. One shows Lautner as a very serious Nathan Harper looking over some papers, with a gun sitting ominously on the desk in front of him. The other has him and co-star Lily Collins damp and running through a wooded area — man, that looks like one situation where it would be really handy to have the ability to turn into a giant wolf. Unfortunately, Lautner as Jacob Black in Breaking Dawn Part 1 is further out, November 18, for those counting the days.

A second trailer for Academy Award-nominated director John Singleton's (Boyz n the Hood) new action thriller, Abduction, has been released and it offers new footage and a little more information about the plot of the movie. Written by first-time feature screenwriter Shawn Christensen, Abduction is headlined by Twilight star Taylor Lautner as Nathan Harper, a seemingly typical teenager who discovers his photo on a missing persons website and then witnesses his "parents" gunned down by a team of trained assassins. Narrowly escaping with his life, Nathan goes on the run with the only person he can trust, his neighbor, Karen (Lily Collins). Pursued by both assassins and government agents, Nathan realizes that he is going to have to fight back if he's ever going to solve the mystery of who he is and where he came from. Sigourney Weaver, Alfred Molina, Dermot Mulroney, Maria Bello and Jason Isaacs also star.

Maybe Jacob Black doesn't get Bella in the Twilight series, but Taylor Lautner is doing just fine. TMZ reports that the 19-year-old actor/producer just dropped an estimated $200,000 at an L.A. Mercedes dealership on a silver 2012 SLS AMG. The gull-wing car goes from 0 to 60 in under 4 seconds and is electronically limited to top out at around 200 mph. It sounds a little nicer than that motorcycle that Jacob rebuilt with Bella. Cullen envy, anyone?
To drop that kind of money on new car, Lautner must be pretty confident about his future success. Abduction, the first movie made by Lautner's production company opens September 23. He also appears in another little flick coming out this fall: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 opens November 18.

Forget Team Edward. If what director John Singleton says is true, the real question will be Team Jacob or Team Nathan.
Singleton is the director of Abduction, the action thriller starring Taylor Lautner that opens early this fall, and MTV sat down with the director to talk about the upcoming flick. He says that Lautner's character Nathan is a "kick-ass dude" and bragged that "I've done some stuff that I'm sure all the young ladies will really love ... and it's beyond taking his shirt off. It's about him having a different kind of swag than he does as Jacob." Check out the short interview
