Award-winning mini-series The Kennedys, brought to you by Reelz, impressed audiences with its beautiful and emotional retelling of public and private events within the Kennedy family, including the assassination of JFK. Now, this November, Reelz will bring viewers deeper into John F. Kennedy's controversial death in the special investigative documentary JFK: The Smoking Gun.
Veteran Police Detective Colin McLaren spent four years on a forensic cold case investigation which brought to light new evidence. By using modern technology, having access to all evidence and gathering eye-witness testimony, McLaren was able to solve a crime every bit as shocking and incredible today as it was when it happened 50 years ago. Get taken deep into the events of the investigation with dramatic re-creations bringing viewers everywhere from that tragic day in Dallas, to Parkland Hospital, to Bethesda Naval Hospital where the autopsy was conducted with controversial results.
The documentary special is produced by Muse Entertainment (The Kennedys) and Cordell/Jigsaw/Zapruder (Go Back Where You Came From). It is written by Steve Lucas (Exhibit A: Secrets of Forensic Science), and directed by Malcolm McDonald (On the Trail of Genghis Khan).
