A few "spy" pics of superstar Brad Pitt in costume on the set of director Andrew Dominik's latest movie, Cogan's Trade, leaked out just as the movie went into production in early March. Now, just as its been announced that the production has wrapped, the first official image of Pitt has been released.
Dominik, who directed Pitt in the critically acclaimed, but financially unsuccessful, 2007 Western The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, also wrote the screenplay for Cogan's Trade. The movie is based on the 1974 book of the same name by the late author George V. Higgins and centers around a mob enforcer (Pitt) who is tasked with investigating the robbery of a high-stakes poker game. Pitt is joined by his Jesse James co-star, Casey Affleck, as well as by an eclectic mix of actor's actors and tough-guy actors, including Sam Rockwell, Mark Ruffalo, Sam Shepard, Richard Jenkins, James Gandolfini and Ray Liotta. Production has just gotten underway on director Andrew Dominik's new movie, Cogan's Trade, the follow-up to his critically acclaimed, but unprofitable, Western, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, and already the New Orleans set has been invaded by photographers eager to nab a few shots of the stars of the movie. Popular entertainment site JustJared was the first to snap pictures of hunky headliner Brad Pitt in costume as Jackie Cogan, a mob enforcer who is tasked with investigating the robbery of a high-stakes poker game.
Strangely, Pitt's movie costume looks virtually identical to the outfit he was seen wearing at LAX two weeks ago. Hopefully, Pitt hasn't gone all "Method" for the role. Posted 03.09.11 by BrentJS

Dominik has been linked to several projects since Jesse James that have failed to get the green light, but he will soon be back in the director's chair, re-teaming with his Jesse James star, Brad Pitt, on Cogan's Trade, a comedic thriller based on George V. Higgins' crime novel of the same name about a mob enforcer (Pitt) investigating the robbery of a high-stakes poker game. what other superstars are rumored for Cogan's Trade? >> Posted 01.06.11 by BrentJS
