A documentary about a real-life cowboy and horse whisperer may sound like it would only be of interest to a small segment of the population, but Cindy Meehl's Buck apparently intrigues more people than one might expect. It picked up the Audience Awards at both Sundance and the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival this year. The movie follows Buck Brannaman, a gentle-spirited cowboy who travels around the country "helping horses with people problems."
The documentary opens in a very limited release (only four theaters) on June 17, with dozens more theaters added on June 24 and again on July 1. The Buck Facebook page lists the theaters that will be screening the movie and the page also features an app to "demand" that Buck comes to your town. So if you want to see Buck in a theater near you, you know what to do. Posted 06.02.11 by Mandy
