George Lucas, the man fanboys love to hate, is done with the movie business.
Lucas' latest movie, Red Tails, tells an important story about the Tuskegee Airmen's struggle against racism while flying combat aircraft during World War II. Lucas, who spent nearly 20 years getting the movie produced, has already publicly revealed the difficulty in trying to sell it to Hollywood studios, citing that "nobody wanted it" because they didn't "feel there was enough of an audience out there for it." Lucas went ahead and financed the movie himself.
Perhaps the difficulty of making Red Tails, combined with the continued rage that fanboys emit every time Lucas alters one of his Star Wars movies, is the reason he told The New York Times: "I'm retiring. I'm moving away from the business, from the company, from all this kind of stuff."

Visionary filmmaker George Lucas (Star Wars series) began developing the WWII-era action drama Red Tails more than twenty years ago and in less than two weeks the movie will finally be soaring onto the big screen. Red Tails is inspired by the true story of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African American combat pilots to serve in the U.S. military, and 20th Century Fox and LucasFilm have released six new preview clips containing never-before-seen footage from the movie, and more than 50 still images and set photos to help build excitement for its theatrical release.

Trailers for the upcoming George Lucas-produced World War II drama Red Tails have been arriving almost once a month since the first one arrived in July.
The newly released theatrical trailer, the fourth so far, focuses mostly on aerial combat, not unlike the trailers that have come before it. The movie follows the inspirational story of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African American combat pilots to serve in the US military, but were often given second-rate planes to fly and faced segregation and discrimination, often by their commanding officers. Red Tails isn't the first movie to tell the story of the Tuskegee Airmen, but the latest trailer shows it could be the best version so far, with way better air fights and moving, inspirational speeches.

The new trailer for the George Lucas-produced World War II drama Red Tails that first aired during the recent Spike TV Scream Awards has now been made available online.
Written by John Ridley (Undercover Brother) and Boondocks writer-artist Aaron Mcgruder and directed by Anthony Hemingway (HBO's Treme), the movie is based on the inspirational true story of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African American combat pilots to serve in the U.S. military, men who fought discrimination at home and the threat of Nazi Germany abroad. The all-star ensemble cast includes Terrence Howard, Nate Parker, Bryan Cranston, Nate Parker, David Oyelowo, Tristan Wilds, Method Man, Lee Tergesen, Ne-Yo, Elijah Kelley, Andre Royo, Jesse Williams and Academy Award–winner Cuba Gooding Jr.

Legendary filmmaker George Lucas has always had an eye for and an appreciation of artists. He hired the best designers and illustrators in Hollywood to help him bring the fantastical world of Star Wars to life and in the foreward to Titan Books' new book, Drew Struzan: Oeuvre, Lucas writes, "Although I have made filmmaking my career, I have never abandoned my love of art and images and those who create them."
It's no wonder then that Lucas chose one of the greatest comic book illustrators of all time, Joe Kubert, to create the latest, comic book-inspired poster for his years-in-the-making World War II combat movie Red Tails. The founder of The Kubert School, the 85-year-old artist rose to fame drawing the exploits of DC Comics' WWII hero Sgt. Rock, making him a perfect match for Red Tails, which tells the true story of the Tuskegee Airmen, the 332nd Fighter Group of the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII that was comprised of the first African American combat pilots to serve in the U.S. military.

At the end of last month, the first, action-packed trailer for World War II combat movie Red Tails debuted, ending a long wait for producer George Lucas, who admitted that he had been "wanting to do Red Tails for 20 years."
Not even another month later, a second trailer has been made available from MTV as well as a brand new poster.
Red Tails tells the real-life story of the Tuskegee Airmen, the 332nd Fighter Group of the U.S. Army in World War II that was made up of the first African American combat pilots to serve in the U.S. military. A constant target of racial discrimination, the pilots were given second-rate planes to fly during their dangerous missions. The Airmen painted the tails of their airplanes red, hence the nickname "Red Tails". The nickname isn't covered in the latest trailer, which is almost non-stop aerial combat.
