As Dolph Lundgren revealed to us earlier this week, there was only one way to go for the upcoming sequel The Expendables 2 and that's "bigger." Terry Crews and Randy Couture, reprising their roles from 2010's The Expendables, couldn't agree more.
"I think from start to finish, this movie [has] way more action," Couture told Hollywood Dailies. "You know, when I read the script, I'm like: 'How in the heck are we going to do that? I mean, it's impossible!' But we pull it off."
Outside of the returning Couture, Crews, Lundgren, Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham and Jet Li, Liam Hemsworth and Yu Nan join the crew with assistance from Chuck Norris, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis. The ending sequence pits almost the entire Expendables 2 cast against villain Jean-Claude Van Damme, and both Couture and Crews said that it wasn't lost on the cast that there were so many action stars in one room.
"You look at all these characters...you might not get this again," said Crews. "So we gotta do it right." more about The Expendables 2 >> Posted 08.17.12 by Ryan
One of the hallmarks of he-man action movies of the '80s and '90s is the one-liner, that sometimes cheesy, often awesome, but definitely memorable signature line, typically delivered just before or immediately after a knock-down, drag-out fight between the hero and the villain (or one of the villain's many henchmen). It's hard to say exactly when the one-liner became a necessary fixture of action movies, but we'll give the credit (or blame, depending upon your point of view) to Arnold Schwarzenegger, whose movies have generated so many classic zingers that they're too numerous to mention. The practice was so common by 1991, in fact, that the Bruce Willis-led action movie The Last Boy Scout ends with Willis' character telling his new sidekick (Damon Wayans), "This is the '90s. You can't just walk up and slap a guy, you have to say something cool first."
With so many veteran action stars appearing in The Expendables 2 — exploding onto movie screens nationwide today! — we thought it would be fun to look back at some of the awesome one-liners delivered by various cast members in some of their more iconic roles. Any movie fan worth his or her salt should be able to tell you that Swedish man-mountain Dolph Lundgren's break-out performance as an actor was his portrayal of the Russian boxer Ivan Drago in Rocky IV. But, what most people don't know is that Lundgren actually studied to be a chemical engineer until his friendship with singer-actress Grace Jones and a chance encounter with celebrated artist Andy Warhol propelled him into show business. In a recent appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Lundgren discussed his unusual entrée into acting, his latest movie, The Expendables 2, and his new non-scripted Reelz series debuting next spring, Race to the Scene, in which pairs of contestants race to and from actual movie locations as they compete in challenges and stunts inspired by memorable movie moments. watch lundgren and join Race to the Scene >> Posted 08.16.12 by BrentJS
2010's The Expendables saw Sylvester Stallone and his crew of new and established action stars overthrow a ruthless South American dictator, but this weekend's The Expendables 2 is a more personal story, with Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Terry Crews, and Randy Couture back to seek revenge on a fallen comrade. As for what to expect, Lundgren told Hollywood Dailies that, in general, the sequel is "bigger."
The first one was big, this one is just bigger. Bigger stunts, more cars and planes and boats and guns and explosions and more stars.
This time, the Expendables adds Liam Hemsworth and Yu Nan to the group, while Chuck Norris, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis add extra firepower to the expanded cast. In an attempt to take down villain Jean-Claude Van Damme, they all come together in a small Bulgarian airport and leave no stone unturned. "I think there's none left," Lundgren said of the location. watch a new Expendables 2 clip >> Posted 08.16.12 by Ryan
The Expendables 2 won't be released into theaters until this weekend, but the extensive cast were on hand for the sequel's premiere in London, including newcomer Jean-Claude Van Damme.
"I was happy for [Sylvester] Stallone to accept the idea of me playing a villain," Van Damme told Reelz. "I think I did a good job."
On the "good guy" side of the cast, returning actor Arnold Schwarzenegger — who will have an expanded role from the cameo he made in 2010's The Expendables — said there was plenty of competition among the cast.

There was always fierce competition from day one on — who has the biggest muscles, who has the best action, who uses the biggest guns and all this stuff.
Since making his debut in 1998's Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, British actor Jason Statham has been one of the most consistently-working action stars around. That made him a perfect fit for the Sylvester Stallone's lineup of past and present actions stars in both 2010's The Expendables and the upcoming sequel The Expendables 2.
The Expendables 2 arrives in theaters later this month, with Statham joining Stallone, Chuck Norris, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Liam Hemsworth, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis in a tale of revenge against baddie Jean-Claude Van Damme, but, before that opens, we've compiled a brief history of Statham's best butt-kicking moments. Oh, you're welcome all right. more statham fight clips >> Posted 08.11.12 by Ryan
Sometimes bigger is better. The cast of the actioner The Expendables 2 promises bigger explosions, bigger stars (Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis take on leading roles), and bigger action in the follow up to the 2010 high-octane movie. Reelzchannel sat down and talked to the cast of The Expendables 2 about the bigger-than-life sequel.
The Expendables 2 stars Sylvester Stallone (who also co-wrote the movie), Jason Statham, Liam Hemsworth, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, and Nikolette Noel. Simon West directs. Posted 08.08.12 by reelz
Following the new posters revealed for The Hobbit and Pacific Rim, two more Comic-Con posters have arrived for the upcoming sequel The Expendables 2 and Marvel's latest short, Item 47.
Like its 2010 predecessor, The Expendables 2 will be another action movie star overload filled with guns, explosions and, who knows, maybe even a little story too. The latest poster for the sequel, revealed on the movie's Facebook page, gives Sylvester Stallone the focus and then shows Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis, back in extended roles after their one-scene appearance in the original. From there, the rest of the Expendables crew is revealed, with Jason Statham getting the most poster space while Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Dolph Lundgren and newcomer Chuck Norris get considerably less space, though more than Jean-Claude Van Damme, who plays the sequel's villain, and Liam Hemsworth, who plays new Expendable Billy the Kid. It could be worse, as Jet Li and the other new Expendable, Yu Nan are nowhere to be found in the poster — unless they're in one of the helicopters, airplanes or tanks depicted at the bottom. check out the posters >> Posted 07.11.12 by Ryan

The promotional campaign for The Expendables 2 has been primarily dedicated to releasing more and more new footage, but after releasing another new trailer to start the month, Lionsgate followed with an explosive poster instead. Getting back on track, the first preview clip from the movie is now online courtesy of AICN.
In the sequel, the 2010 original Expendables add a few newcomers, including Liam Hemsworth as sniper Billy the Kid and Yu Nan as Maggie. The whole team is out for revenge when one of their own is murdered. Not that we're taking bets, but we're willing to gamble (okay, maybe one bet) that Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham are free from the chopping block, and Hemsworth might be too because of his ability to bring a more youthful, born in the '80s not lived through the '80s kind of crowd. Jet Li feels like the more emotional gut-check option because, seriously, who doesn't like Jet Li, but realistically, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, and Terry Crews shouldn't get too comfortable. The preview clip isn't interested in revealing which Expendable lives up to their name, but instead shows Stallone and Statham as Barney Ross and Lee Christmas, respectively, requiring assistance from Hemsworth to get them out of a jam. watch the clip >> Posted 06.29.12 by Ryan
