Verónica Echegui has yet to be discovered by American audiences, but she is already a well-known actress in her native Spain, having won several awards for her work in such movies as My Name is Juani (2006) and Katmandú, un espejo en el cielo (2011). However, the 29-year-old actress should start to pop up on the radars of Stateside moviegoers once Mabrouk El Mechri's (JCVD) new action thriller, The Cold Light of Day, opens this week.
It's unclear how extensive Echegui's role in the movie is, but she is featured alongside Henry Cavill in the two new preview clips from the movie that have been released online. The plot revolves around a young man's (Cavill) quest to unravel the mystery surrounding the disappearance of his parents while on a family vacation in Spain and the secret life his father (Bruce Willis) has been leading. From what we see in the preview clips, Echegui's character appears to be an innocent bystander who simply gets swept up in the intrigue. watch the new preview clips >> Posted 04.02.12 by BrentJS
If you're a fan of handsome heroes brandishing guns in exotic locales, then you'll love the new posters for The Cold Light of Day and Lockout.
The former is an action thriller directed by Mabrouk El Mechri (JCVD) that finds future Superman Henry Cavill on the hunt for the truth behind the disappearance of his parents (Bruce Willis and Caroline Goodall) during a family vacation in Spain. The latter is a sci-fi movie co-written (with first-time feature co-directors James Mather and Stephen St. Leger) and produced by Luc Besson (The Transporter, Columbiana) that stars Guy Pearce as a man wrongly convicted of espionage, who is offered clemency if he can rescue the president's daughter (Maggie Grace) from an orbiting prison that has been taken over by the inmates. check out the new posters >> Posted 02.21.12 by BrentJS
Even though the debut of director Zack Snyder's Man of Steel is still well more than a year away, you can see Henry "Superman" Cavill fly through the air right now in the new trailer for his latest movie, The Cold Light of Day. (Okay, in actuality, Cavill jumps and falls, but it's still a pretty spectacular mid-air shot of the future superhero.)
Directed by Mabrouk El Mechri (JCVD), The Cold Light of Day is an action thriller that follows a young man named Will Shaw (Cavill) as he attempts to unravel the mystery surrounding the disappearance of his parents during a family vacation in Spain. After discovering that his father (Bruce Willis) is secretly a CIA agent, it's Will's turn to play the role of super-spy in order to save his parents from the forces conspiring against them.
