In a career that spans decades, Willis got his start doing theater in New York before getting his break on the TV show Moonlighting and then moving on to movies. At the age of 57, Willis seems to be busier than ever, carving out new franchises like The Expendables and RED (whose sequel, RED 2 opens later this year), while still appearing in smaller, art-house projects like last year's Moonrise Kingdom.
This week, Bruce Willis returns to the franchise that made it all happen with A Good Day to Die Hard, the fifth installment in Willis' most enduring franchise. This time, Detective John McClane will travel to Russia to meet up with his son (Jai Courtney) in a sequel that is poised to win a long, three-day weekend. Which of this year's movies deserve the industry’s highest honor?
This has been an incredible year for movie lovers, especially fans of genre movies. There were fewer superheroes on the big screen, but they ruled the box office, nonetheless, with smartly written, ingeniously directed and just plain fun comic book adaptations coming in first, second, and fifth on the list of the highest-grossing movies of the year. Sci-fi fans were made to suffer through a couple of early duds, but had their patience rewarded with the return of some classic characters and one of the most influential directors to work in the genre after a thirty-year hiatus. Fantasy fans got to choose between whimsical and warrior Snow Whites, and the world's most popular vampire couple had a baby, not to mention that the greatest high fantasy franchise of all time returns to theaters this month after a decade slumbering in the Shire. (Horror fans got the short end of the stake stick this year, with too many sequels and not enough original content.)
Women continued to assert themselves in 2012, with more female-driven comedies getting laughs for the kinds of jokes once reserved for men, and the first woman to win an Oscar for Best Director is almost a sure thing for another nomination. Independent studios also made a splash this year, turning out several engaging, moving, and downright brilliant dramas that are every bit as good as the big studio dramas with A-list directors.
Which movies were the best? Which ones deserve the honor of being nominated for the movie industry's top prize? That's up to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to decide, but we want to know what you think. Throughout the majority of director Wes Anderson's work is an underlying theme of innocence or the impact of one's childhood on adulthood. From his 1996 debut Bottle Rocket, which followed three, seemingly harmless young men who ineptly try to become thieves, to his 1998 sophomore feature Rushmore, which followed a 15-year-old's attempt to win the love of his schoolteacher.
Anderson's latest movie, Moonrise Kingdom, which arrives on DVD and Blu-Ray today, follows two twelve-year-old kids Sam (Jared Gilman and Suzy (Kara Hayward) who fall in love and run away together, setting off a panic in their small New England town.

We love movies and we especially love movies with great ensemble casts. There's nothing better than seeing our favorite actors and actresses sharing screen time with one another, feeding off of each others' performances and upping each others' game. With a decent script and the right director, a great ensemble cast can create cinematic gold.
It's because of our love for movies with great ensemble casts that we are eagerly anticipating writer-director Martin McDonagh's (In Bruges) new black comedy, Seven Psychopaths. The plot is a bit out there, but with a cast that includes Colin Farrell, Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell and Woody Harrelson, we're sure to be treated to some combustible onscreen chemistry. Seven Psychopaths doesn't come out until next week, so help us pass the time until its release by rating the Top 10 Great Ensembles in Good Movies.

The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises obliterated the popular myth that the superhero action genre had run its course. Ted proved that Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is even funnier when he doesn't have to censor himself.
