Washington saves lives after a bender, lines up for an Oscar.
When flying, one hopes the airplane will hold up and that the pilot of said plane is sober enough to handle any problems. That's more or less the crux of the plot to the upcoming drama Flight, which sees Denzel Washington play commercial airline pilot Whip Whitaker, who saves almost an entire flight of passengers despite having to perform an emergency crash landing, but does so with a high level of alcohol in his system.saving all the latest trailers

The first trailer for Flight has arrived online, offering a look at Denzel Washington's most dramatic role since, arguably, 2007's The Great Debaters. Flight sees Washington play commercial airline pilot Whip Whitaker, whose miraculous crash landing that saved nearly an entire flight of passengers is questioned when alcohol is found to have been in his system. Once his alcoholism is discovered, the entire episode is questioned, with questions arising over what really happened to the plane.
Flight is also a change-of-pace for director Robert Zemeckis, who has been working primarily on motion-capture animation movies like Beowulf and Polar Express for the past decade-plus since 2000's Castaway and What Lies Beneath. watch the trailer >> Posted 06.07.12 by Ryan
The last time Robert Duvall and Tom Cruise appeared on screen together was in 1990's Days of Thunder, but the two will reunite in Paramount Pictures' adaptation of One Shot, based on the novel by author Lee Child.
Cruise plays Jack Reacher, a former Military Police Officer-turned-drifter, who investigates the deaths of five individuals at the hands of a lone sniper. Variety reports that Duvall has a small but "significant" role in the movie, particularly to Reacher's story line.
Cruise was a surprising choice to play Reacher, whom Child has used in 15 different novels (One Shot is the ninth in the series). Described in the books as 6'5" and 250 pounds, let's just say that Cruise isn't quite there physically, but as Child recently told Empire "which actor does match Reacher physically?" (Thor's Ray Stevenson, for the record, is our answer.) Furthermore, the author explained, "the movie is not going to match the book anyway." A little over a week ago, it was announced that Denzel Washington was cast in director Robert Zemeckis' Flight, the first live-action movie for Zemeckis (Back to the Future) since 2000's Castaway. More cast members have reportedly booked their ticket.
According to Moviehole, Don Cheadle (Iron Man 2) and Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek) have joined the cast of the upcoming thriller, which sees Washington as a pilot who saves most of the passengers on a commercial airline flight after a malfunction but is eventually investigated after it is discovered that he drank the night before the flight. Cheadle and Greenwood's roles are unspecified at this time.
John Gatins (Real Steel) wrote the script for Flight, which goes into production in Atlanta this October. Kelly Reilly (Sherlock Holmes) is already set to play a drug addict who befriends Washington as they both battle their dependency issues.
