Today’s Hot Trailer: The first ladies of Australian soul.
In Hollywood, a good idea is often deserving of not one, but two movies. Sometimes, the plots are basically the same, but with different actors, such as with last year's two romantic comedies Friends With Benefits and No Strings Attached. Other times, as with this year's two Snow White adaptations, Mirror, Mirror and Snow White and the Huntsman, the source material is the same, but the movies end up being quite different.
The latest pair of movies proving this trend are Sparkle and The Sapphires. Both movies are set in the '60s and feature musical groups comprised of female soul singers who use their talents to overcome adversity. Sparkle is in theaters now and features Whitney Houston's last theatrical performance. The Sapphires made its debut in May at Cannes, but the first trailer for the movie was just released in advance of its upcoming screening at the Toronto International Film Festival. Check out the new trailer and then compare it with the trailer for Sparkle. WATCH THE TRAILER >>
