Last week, the first trailer for the upcoming biopic Hitchcock arrived online, which sees Anthony Hopkins play the legendary director Alfred Hitchcock in a story that tracks his marriage to Alma Reville (played by Helen Mirren) as he put up his own money to make his classic thriller Psycho. From what is seen in the trailer, Hopkins turns in an inspired performance, one that made director Sacha Gervasi (Anvil! The Story of Anvil) remark: "I think he really found the role quite delicious."
However, as is often the case in Hollywood, it's not the only biopic of Hitchcock in the works. In fact, a month before Hitchcock opens in theaters, HBO will deliver The Girl, which sees British actor Toby Jones (Captain America: The First Avenger, Snow White and the Huntsman) play the legendary director as he enlists actress Tippi Hedren (played by Sienna Miller) for his follow-up to Psycho, The Birds. In light of two actors portraying the same person in a span of a month, we felt the question of "which Hitchcock could take the other" was obvious, and could only be settled in a Character Cage Match.

A story of love and making a movie about a homicidal maniac.
There's probably very few out there that don't consider Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho one of the greatest movies of all-time, but the making of it was less than smooth and tested the marriage between the legendary director and his wife Alma Reville. Their love story is the backbone of the upcoming biopic Hitchcock, which details the difficulties involved in getting Psycho to the big screen and how Alma (played by Helen Mirren) was a continual source of strength and a sounding board for Hitchcock (played by Anthony Hopkins).
"I think Alma accepts Hitch for exactly who he is and knows his idiosyncrasies and his crazy predilections," director Sacha Gervasi (Anvil! The Story of Anvil) recently explained to EW. "She allows him to have his obsessions and I think our movie is about a point where they sort of escalate. Their marriage is absolutely touched off by his increasing obsessions with these women, but they were ultimately fantasy relationships. Hitch lived in this world of fantasy; to him it was more real than real life. And I think Alma was able to kind of, in this film at least, smash it down a little bit."

Twilight fans have to be lamenting that the franchise is coming to an end, but, luckily, there's another potential franchise to fill the void. The Host, based on Twilight author Stephenie Meyer's 2008 novel of the same name will start shooting next February and will be in theaters on March 29, 2013 — a mere four months after The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 hits theaters.
While still exploring the theme of romance, The Host abandons vampires for an unseen alien race called Souls, who have taken over most of humanity by inhabiting their bodies as hosts. Melanie (Saoirse Ronan) is one of the few remaining survivors, but is finally captured and is invaded by a Soul named the Wanderer, a.k.a. Wanda (also played by Ronan), who can't gain complete control of Melanie's mind. Ian (Jake Abel) falls for Wanda, who, as Melanie, is still in love with Jerad (the recently cast Max Irons). It's an all-new, but more complicated, love triangle!
With the three leads cast, EW reports that co-screenwriter Meyer and director-writer Andrew Niccol (In Time) have cast actor William Hurt as Jeb, Melanie's crazy uncle and a leader of the human resistance.
Meyer is said to be planning two sequels to The Host, titled The Soul and The Seeker, but a sequel is yet to be published.
