It's official: Jonah Hill is joining Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn in 20th Century Fox's up coming comedy Neighborhood Watch.
Last week, the recently slimmed-down actor was reportedly in talks for the movie, but concerns about his price tag made the casting questionable. Deadline reports that Hill is a go for the movie, though what role Hill will play is still unknown.
Written by Superbad's Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the comedy sees Stiller and Vaughn start a neighborhood watch group as an excuse for dads to hang out together, and then uncover an alien plot to take over the world. Last month, actor-producer Tom Cruise was confirmed to produce and act in Paramount Pictures' adaptation of author Lee Child's novel One Shot. Finally, Cruise is getting some company.
Deadline reports that Rosamund Pike is in negotiations to take the female lead, that of a defense attorney named Helen Rodin. In the novel, Cruise's character, former Military Police Officer-turned-drifter Jack Reacher, investigates the deaths of five individuals, all shot by a lone sniper. Pike's Rodin is defending the man arrested for the shootings, and joins up with Cruise's Reacher to bring down the real culprits.
One Shot was adapted by screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie (Valkyrie, The Usual Suspects), who will also direct for the first time since his 2000 crime drama The Way of the Gun. Production on the movie will start this fall in Pittsburgh. No release date for One Shot has been announced so far.
Pike can be seen next in September's Johnny English Reborn, followed by the October comedy The Big Year and, next March, in Wrath of the Titans, the sequel to Clash of the Titans. Hill and dewitt to join Stiller and Vaughn in Neighborhood Watch >> Posted 08.17.11 by Ryan
In January, The Fighter director David O. Russell began negotiations to take over writing and directing Universal’s adaptation of the Boom! Studios comic book 2 Guns, which had been in development since 2008. With a script in place from TV writer Blake Masters (Brotherhood) and actors Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson attached to star as two undercover agents trying to investigate each other while pulling off a job to steal from the mafia and have no idea about the real identity of the other.
While Wilson eventually left the project, THR reports that Mark Wahlberg is entering into final negotiations to join the movie, which would reunite him with his Fighter director. There's only one problem: Both Russell and Vaughn have dropped out. new roles for Morgan Freeman and Eddie Murphy >> Posted 08.11.11 by Ryan
Thanks to the critical and financial success of The Fighter, director David O. Russell now has his pick of follow-up projects and it appears that his next two features could be a one-two punch of video game and comic book adaptations. Although there was talk that he would next direct Old St. Louis, an original comedy that he wrote that would star Vince Vaughn as a traveling salesman.
After dropping out as director of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the heat generated from The Fighter makes it far more likely that he will concentrate his efforts on Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, a live-action adaptation of the Playstation 3 game that will star Mark Wahlberg. Now, THR is reporting that Russell is "in negotiations" to rewrite and direct 2 Guns, Universal’s adaptation of the Boom! Studios comic book that has Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson attached to star in it. what is 2 Guns all about? >> Posted 01.18.11 by BrentJS

The Hollywood Boxing Organization, which has sponsored bouts involving Jose Canseco, Michael Lohan, and The Partridge Family's Danny Bonaduce, is offering $1M to movie fighters Will Smith (Ali) and Mark Wahlberg to fight in a charity boxing match in February. While Smith has both a height and reach advantage, the smart money is on Wahlberg, who actually boxed in The Fighter. Posted 12.21.10 by reelz

The first trailer for the Ron Howard-directed comedy The Dilemma opened with star Vince Vaughn making what would become a controversial joke. "Electric cars...are gay," Vaughn began. "Not homosexual-gay, but 'my-parents-are-chaperoning-the-dance-gay.'"
The joke was immediately criticized for its lack of sensitivity, most notably by Anderson Cooper during an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. The CNN journalist said "we've got to do something to make those words unacceptable 'cause those words are hurting kids."
Universal immediately issued another trailer, while the old trailer continued to play in theaters. "[The removal of the old trailer] has to happen on a theater-by-theater basis, and it isn't the kind of thing that happens instantaneously," a Universal spokesperson explained to The LA Times this week. "The new trailer will begin appearing in theaters this Friday and we believe at that time the old trailer will no longer appear anywhere." Vaughn offers his opinion >> Posted 10.15.10 by Ryan
Bad news for zombie fans: David O. Russell has left the adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's mash-up novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, which Russell has been attached to since the end of last year.
According to Vulture, Russell left the project when Natalie Portman, who will star in the movie as well as produce, could not make Russell's preferred start date, leaving Russell to concentrate on Old St. Louis, a dramedy starring Vince Vaughn as a traveling salesman and absentee father whose life changes when his daughter becomes a part of his life. movies are hard to schedule >> Posted 10.05.10 by Ryan
