Viggo Mortensen and Amy Adams are the latest additions to the cast of 2011's adaptation of On the Road. It looks like the highly anticipated movie adaptation is finally taking shape, after being in development hell for the last 30 years.
Mortensen — better known as Aragorn in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy — will play Old Bull Lee (the character based on William S. Burroughs), while Adams (Enchanted) will take on the role of his wife Jane. Also joining them is previously announced Twilight Saga star Kristen Stewart as Marylou, and Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man) as Camille.
On the Road's story — which has inspired generations of readers — is based around two friends and their experiences on several road trips across America. Walter Salles will direct the movie, which is based on Jack Kerouac's classic novel of the same name.
