Director Sam Raimi finally debuted the first footage from his upcoming Oz: The Great and Powerful at Disney's Comic-Con panel on Saturday and Reelz was there to soak it all in.
Prior to screening the trailer for the thousands on hand, Raimi revealed that the movie would specifically follow James Franco as he goes from a carnival magician in Kansas to becoming the Wizard.

It's based on L. Frank Baum's great books that he wrote at the turn of the century. It’s really the story of The Wizard. It's who the Wizard was and how he came to be the great wizard we know. And really it's a story of a selfish man, who is a bit of a lothario, a bit of a cad, not a great guy at first. The story takes place, like the great Wizard of Oz, in Kansas, and he starts off as a carnival magician. And we see that he's a good magician, but he lacks a lot in social skills and human skills; being a good person. He has a good heart, but he isn’t in touch with it. He thinks the way to greatness is through fame and fortune, when really it’s about the sharing of his gifts and the selfless expression of his talents. So he's a little bit of a character in the beginning and his life becomes untenable in Kansas and he's forced out, in fact, he’s been sleeping with this woman — he’s an adulterer — [and] he’s chased out of Kansas and he takes a balloon up and that balloon gets swept up in a tornado and that’s how he ends up in the land of Oz.

Hollywood Dailies host Steve Patterson talked with Michelle Williams about her upcoming movie, and one thing is clear: Success clearly hasn't gone to the three-time Oscar-nominated actress' head.
Just like her character in Take This Waltz, Williams is sweet, humble, engaging, and most refreshing of all, incredibly honest and genuine. Watch our interview and see if you, too, don't end up with a little bit of a crush. Watch the interview and prepare to be charmed >> Posted 06.21.12 by Mandy

ReelzChannel Celebrity Rundown
George Clooney, Meryl Streep, and The Artist were the big award winners at the Golden Globes Sunday night, but more importantly, who won the red carpet? Consensus around the web is Angelina Jolie, who eschewed her usual black for a snow-white-and-red Versace gown, and Charlize Theron in a slitty Dior Couture gown tie for top honors. Worst-dressed award-winners are Michelle Williams and Madonna, who were both labeled "matronly."

Last month, the first trailer debuted for My Week With Marilyn, the biopic about a production assistant (Eddie Redmayne) who befriends Marilyn Monroe (played by Michelle Williams) while she shot a movie in Britain. At the time, the movie was scheduled to have opened this past weekend, but after the movie's debut at the New York Film Festival, The Weinstein Company decided to reschedule the opening weekend to November 23, just in time for Thanksgiving. The move was precipitated by the movie's warm reception at the festival.
Based on two memoirs by Colin Clark, My Week With Marilyn shows a glimpse of Monroe's life in 1957, when Monroe was working on the movie The Prince and the Showgirl, which co-starred Sir Laurence Olivier (played by Kenneth Branagh), who also directed. During the movie's production, Monroe was introduced to British life through Clark, while her then-husband, the playwright Aurthur Miller (Dougray Scott) was away. watch the clips >> Posted 11.07.11 by Ryan
The first trailer for My Week With Marilyn has arrived online, right before the movie premieres at the New York Film Festival this weekend.
My Week With Marilyn is based on two memoirs by Colin Clark, who worked as an assistant director on Sir Laurence Olivier's 1957 movie The Prince and the Showgirl, which Olivier directed and starred in with Marilyn Monroe. As the title suggests, Clark (played by Eddie Redmayne) spent a week with Marilyn (Michelle Williams) on the British set, where she worked with Olivier (Kenneth Branagh) and was also on honeymoon with her husband, the playwright Aurthur Miller (Dougray Scott). When Miller leaves the country for France during the Week, Clark shows Marilyn British life as she escapes from her Hollywood routine. The movie also co-stars Emma Watson and Dame Judi Dench. watch the trailer >> Posted 10.07.11 by Ryan
Gangster Squad is getting a new member.
Deadline reports that Giovanni Ribisi (Avatar) has joined the Warner Bros. production as a police officer whose specialty is electrics and wiring. The rest of the squad, so far, includes Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Anthony Mackie, Bryan Cranston and Michael Pena.
Gangster Squad is based on a series of Los Angeles Times articles by Paul Lieberman which followed an elite squad of police officers who went after gangsters like "Mickey" Cohen (played by Sean Penn in the movie) in 1949 Los Angeles. Novelist and former South Central Los Angeles cop Will Beall wrote the script, which will be directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, 30 Minutes or Less). Production begins this September. Today's Challenge: Blue Valentine and No Strings Attached are both released on DVD and Blu-ray for the first time today. Can you find a movie link to connect stars Michelle Williams and Ashton Kutcher?
Our first Facebook movie game, ClusterFlick, plays off that old "six degrees of separation" theory — you know, the one that has a certain Kevin at the center of the Hollywood universe. It's easy to play, but not so easy to win. The goal is to use the major cast of movies to get from Point A to Point B in the smallest number of moves.
