Writer-director Dylan Kidd made an impression with his 2002 debut movie Roger Dodger, but has been mostly absent since until co-writing and directing 2004's little-seen P.S. and, most recently, directing episodes of the Adult Swim series Children's Hospital. Now Kidd is looking to get back to directing movies with the comedy Get a Job for CBS Films.
Variety reports that Miles Teller (Project X) is in negotiations to star in the movie as a college graduate who, along with his friends, attempts to enter the working world during a recession. Offers have been made to Anna Kendrick (Up In the Air, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) and Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) for unspecified roles, while Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Kick-Ass) and Jay Pharaoh (Saturday Night Live) could appear in the movie as well. Jesse Eisenberg, who co-starred in Kidd's Roger Dodger, would appear in a cameo.
None of the actors are confirmed yet, as CBS Films has yet to give Get a Job the official greenlight. Therefore, the movie has no official start date, but, according to the report, shooting could start as early as next month. Newcomers Kyle Pennekamp and Scott Turpel wrote the Get a Job script.
