Two female vampires who give up immortality for love? As if!
For those wondering where Alicia Silverstone has been of late, the actress has quietly been making a comeback for the past few years, starting with a stint on Broadway in the play Time Stands Still and appearing in a few episodes of ABC's Suburgatory alongside her Clueless co-star Jeremy Sisto. It was the Broadway stint, however, that led her Clueless director Amy Heckerling to hire Silverstone for Vamps, where she co-stars alongside Krysten Ritter (Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23) as two vampires living in modern day New York who fall in love and must make a decision that could jeopardize their immortality. With the first trailer for Vamps arriving online, it's surprising that it was her Broadway performance that convinced Heckerling to hire Silverstone, since her Vamps character of Goody seems like the undead version of Cher, her character from Clueless.total betty trailers

Werewolves in NYC better watch out; there's about to be some new vampires in the city. Today, the first teaser poster for Amy Heckerling's twist on the vampire-romance genre, Vamps, debuted at MTV's Hollywood Crush.
Vamps marks the first re-teaming of writer/director Heckerling and Alicia Silverstone since 1995's Clueless. The movie also stars Krysten Ritter, Sigourney Weaver, and Wallace Shawn The playful image in the first poster, along with the tagline "Nice Girls Suck," makes it pretty clear that these vampires won't be as angst ridden as the bloodsuckers from the Twilight movies, though there is some chance that it might, like Ren and Stimpy, be "way existential."
A new synopsis was released along with the poster that describes the characters played by Silverstone and Ritter.
As upstanding, politically correct Extended Life Forms (ELFs), the pair fit twelve-step "Sanguines Anonymous" meetings to help curb the temptation of human blood in between their clubbing and dating schedules. When love steals into each of their lives, the pair’s destiny is set on a new course and they must make a choice that will jeopardize their immortality—and maybe much more.
Unfortunately, there is no release date set for the movie, but it's expected to open sometime next year. Posted 09.06.11 by Mandy
