Last week, a violet-colored dress worn by Elizabeth Taylor in the movie Cleopatra was our favorite item from the show, and a costume worn by the Hollywood icon was featured on this week's BHP as well. This time the costume was from A Place in the Sun, and while the movie may have been largely forgotten, this dress is still iconic. The tight-waisted dress with a tulle skirt and floral detail on the bust was a dress that launched a thousand prom dress reproductions. In fact, the dress's popularity has spanned the decades, and strikingly similar designs can still be found today. With this kind of enduring popularity, it's no wonder that costume designer Edith Head won an Oscar for her work on the movie.
