After appearing in family movies like Planet 51 and Tooth Fairy, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is jumping back into action (movies). With Fast Five opening next year, Johnson's first foray into action is Faster, which sees him as a man released from prison and seeking revenge on the men that killed his brother. The script, written by screenwriting brothers Joe and Tony Gayton, was one that Johnson hand-picked for his action movie renaissance.
"We heard that he didn't just like the script, but that he loved it," Tony told ComingSoon. "He got it... he got the 70's sort of vibe. Once we heard his passion for it, we were just thrilled. I think some actors would be nervous playing a part like this because there's not a lot of dialogue. He never asked for more dialogue. The studio asked for it a few times, but Dwayne never asked. I think that's a guy who feels comfortable with his screen presence. I don't think he minded that — in fact, I think he embraced it." Watch the trailer >> Posted 10.12.10 by Ryan
