As if one new New Moon scene wasn't enough, Yahoo! has premiered a brand-new Volturi clip, complete with talking Aro, vampire action, and a very pale Edward (Robert Pattinson) getting his ass kicked.
Although this never happens in the book, Melissa Rosenberg looks to have done a great job spicing up the script, and has added more male-audience-friendly action. Aro (Michael Sheen), Marcus (Christopher Heyerdahl), and Caius (Jamie Campbell Bower) are finally seen in action, with Felix (Daniel Cudmore) and Demetri (Charlie Bewley) doing a stellar job as Volturi guards. Now, if only Bella (Kristen Stewart) didn't look so deer-in-the-headlights, we'd all be happy. Posted 10.22.09 by reelz
Today, Summit Entertainment sent the Twilight fandom into overdrive by releasing official images of New Moon's Volturi vampires. Marcus, Caius, Aro, Jane, and Alec are now all available for your viewing pleasure and, we have to admit, they look pretty awesome.
Placed in front of an atmospheric backdrop worthy of vampires everywhere, the Volturi look nothing less than creepy. Pale and menacing is the look Summit's gone for, and it's worked much better than we thought it would. Dakota Fanning looks particularly accurate as Jane, as does Cameron Bright, who's playing her twin brother Alec.
Michael Sheen, Christopher Heyerdahl, and Jamie Campbell Bower complete the Volturi, as ancient leaders Aro, Marcus, and Caius. Bower looks especially good, with slicked back blonde hair, and a black cloak to rival Dracula's. For anyone who thought New Moon would be all bark and no bite, think again — the vampires are back in business. Posted 08.27.09 by reelz
The first images of New Moon's Volturi vampire family have leaked online, originating from an anonymous, unnamed source. The images show Michael Sheen (Aro), Christopher Heyerdahl (Marcus), Jamie Campbell Bower (Caius), Dakota Fanning (Jane), and Cameron Bright (Alec) vamped and suited up, and looking every bit the part of their undead characters. Also shown is the Volturi crest, similar in style to the Cullen crest seen in Twilight.
Summit has hit the nail on the head here, with each of the Volturi members looking creepy and pale, and in no way like someone you'd want to meet in a dark, deserted place. Caius looks particularly menacing — more so than Jane, which is surprising, considering she has killer eye makeup. What do you think, Twilighters? Is this how you imagined the world's oldest Vampire clan? Posted 07.30.09 by reelz
Christopher Heyerdahl, the actor behind New Moon's Volturi vampire Marcus, spoke to Sci Fi Wire about New Moon, vampires, and the upcoming sequels. On character Marcus, Heyerdahl had nothing but good things to say:
He's one of the oldest vampires on the planet, and who doesn't want toplay a 3,000-year-old vampire? The cast that I get to work with, like Michael Sheen.... We had so much fun goofing off together. It was an absolute hoot. Director Chris Weitz's version for this piece is like a Renaissance painting. The images were absolutely beautiful, and the character is such a tragic old fellow.
When asked about Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final installment in The Twilight Saga, he said:
I have left that book alone. I want to leave it until we get closer to the movie. I was talking to Stephenie about it, and she asked if I had read the final book. I said, "Nope, I don't want to read it yet. I want to leave it alone until we get there." ...I do know generally what happens, since it is impossible not to find out. And, yes, I've been contracted for the final chapter.
Twilight fans can breathe a collective sigh of relief, as this is yet more confirmation that a Breaking Dawn movie is on Summit's upcoming schedule. And with Stephenie Meyer still very much involved, how could it possibly go wrong? Let us count the ways. Posted 07.13.09 by reelz
Finally! Summit Entertainment today announced the full cast list for the Twilight sequel, New Moon.
Joining the returning Twilight movie cast and previously confirmed werewolves are: Charlie Bewley (Demetri), Jamie Campbell Bower (Caius), Daniel Cudmore (Felix), Christopher Heyerdahl (Marcus), Dakota Fanning (Jane), Cameron Bright (Alec), Noot Seear (Heidi), Michael Sheen (Aro), Tinsel Korey (Emily), and Graham Greene (Harry Clearwater).
Summit seems to be keeping to relatively unknown actors (much like they did with Twilight), with most of these new additions being unrecognizable by name. It's good for the actors (instant fame) and good for Summit (cheaper salaries), but are they the right choices for these much-loved roles? Only ardent Twilighters have the answer...
