Which Actress Should Play the Last Princess of Alderran?
Now that Disney has expanded its library of fairy tale princesses to include its first space princess, the question is: How does the "House of Mouse" plan to utilize Leia Organa, last princess of the doomed planet Alderran, twin brother to Luke Skywalker, and daughter of evil Sith warlord Darth Vader. Concurrent with the announcement of the purchase of Lucasfilm Ltd., Disney revealed that Star Wars: Episode VII would be blasting into theaters in 2015, which we later learned would be written by Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine); however, nothing about the plot has been revealed.
All three of the principal actors who starred in the original trilogy — Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher — have expressed interest in returning in the new movie and it's likely that Disney will want to capitalize on the popularity of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Leia Organa, but whether Disney brings back the original cast members as a way of bridging the original trilogy with the new trilogy or reboots the characters with younger actors is anyone's guess. Considering how well Paramount's Star Trek reboot was received by the general audience and even die-hard Trekkers and Trekkies, coupled with the fact that Disney skews young, we're thinking Star Wars will get the reboot.
We already asked you to vote for the best actors to play Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. Now, we want to know who you think has what it takes to wag her finger in the face of evil as the feisty princess with a preference for scoundrels?

The upcoming R-rated dramedy 50/50 opens at the end of the month, but recently screened in advance at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The movie follows 27-year-old Adam (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), who is diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, and his best friend Kyle (Seth Rogen), who helps him beat it. From that description alone, the jokes just write themselves.
The script was written by Rogen's screenwriter friend Will Reiser, who is himself a cancer survivor. While attending the TIFF press conference for 50/50 (via the National Post), Reiser explained how he decided to turn his story of survival into a script.

The way we dealt with it was we didn’t sit around and talk about our feelings. We just made jokes and we sort of tried to make fun of the absurdity of the entire situation. One night we were at a party and someone asked me if I had made a bucket list of all I wanted to do...I was like, "I’m actually really sick. I just want to sleep. I don’t really want to go to Africa." We started talking about how there’s never been a comedy about cancer. We started talking about it, well, why don’t we do a buddy comedy.
Though her father Ron Howard made his mark by playing nice guys (like Opie Taylor and Richie Cunningham), Bryce Dallas Howard is skilled at portraying some truly wicked women. The actress played the "vampire with a vendetta," Victoria, in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and in this week's The Help, she plays a character nearly as powerful and dangerous as a vampire: Jackson, Mississippi's Junior League president Hilly Holbrook.
Who's more evil, Victoria or Hilly? Let's compare >> Posted 08.10.11 by reelz
The first trailer has debuted for actor/director Tate Taylor's (Winter's Bone) adaptation of The Help, based on the novel by Kathryn Stockett.
Set in a segregated city of Jackson, Mississippi, during the 1960s The Help tells the stories of three women — young college graduate Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan (Emma Stone) and African American maids Aibileen Clark (Viola Davis) and Minny Jackson (Octavia Spencer) — and how their intertwining lives represent the racial divide of their southern town. Bryce Dallas Howard has been building a nice resume joining popular movie franchise sequels lately; playing Victoria in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man 3, and Kate Connor in Terminator Salvation. Apparently, Spider-Man and Terminator were nothing compared to the intensity of joining the Twilight universe. Howard admitted to MTV that making Eclipse was more intense than the others. Summit Entertainment has released 20 new stills from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Now you can get a better look at a very shirtless wolfpack, Bella's human friends, and Jacob's beefy arms. Oh, and there are a few of Edward, too, with Robert Pattinson looking as broody as ever. More on the The Twilight Saga: Eclipse crowd >> Posted 06.11.10 by reelz
An early image of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse oversized 2011 calendar shows the cast as we've never seen them before — or in slightly different poses, at least.
Jacob (Taylor Lautner) looks mean and buff, while Edward (Robert Pattinson) seems his usual concerned self. It's no wonder Bella (Kristen Stewart) looks a tad stressed out — she's got a lot to contend with. If she's not choosing between vampires and werewolves, she's running from porcelain doll look-alike Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard), and dodging creepy child vampire Jane (Dakota Fanning). It's hard being a mortal in Forks.
And let's not forget Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) who, to be honest, looks like he's seen much better days. We're not sure who styles his hair, but it's steadily getting worse with each movie. Look on the bright side — at least he doesn't resemble a meathead Jock gone wrong, unlike poor Emmett (Kellan Lutz). Be grateful for small mercies. Posted 04.21.10 by reelz
As evidenced by the many release parties this weekend, Twilighters are excited to get their hands on the first look at this summer's release, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, along with having New Moon readily available for home viewing.
Today, two of those DVD extras have made their way to the web — the first scene from Eclipse, which shows Bella and Edward together in bed, and the behind-the-scenes featurette. Both can be seen in the combined clip below.
What do you think, fans? Do these make your more or less excited for June 30th? Posted 03.22.10 by reelz
This morning the highly anticipated first official teaser trailer for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse hit the Internet. Here's what one fan, Sara from Novel Novice Twilight, had to say:
A lot happens in Stephenie Meyer's Eclipse — and while the newly released trailer for the movie adaptation shows only a tiny fraction of what's to come, it's a juicy fraction. The trailer is heavy on the love triangle, which is at the very core of the book, and fans from both Team Edward and Team Jacob get plenty of moments to squeal over.... All in all, this is a really great first trailer — and it's got me very excited and very optimistic about the movie.
From angsty love triangle scenes to the "new" Victoria to Bella's visible ring (and wig), we've got a scene-by-scene review. Check it out and tell us if you agree. Posted 03.11.10 by reelz
Summit Entertainment just released the official Eclipse teaser trailer online, making today the equivalent of Christmas Day for Twilighters everywhere.
The new one-minute-thirty-second clip shows lots of angsty love triangle scenes, with both Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner) declaring their undying love for Bella (Kristen Stewart). The Volturi also make a brief appearance, as does Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard), in all her tree-leaping glory.
What do you think, Twilighters? Does Bella's hair look terrible? Is Edward pale enough? And how does the new Victoria measure up? Let us know your thoughts in the comments! Posted 03.11.10 by reelz
