The Fantastic Four finally have a villain to face.
With Fox already selecting its main cast of Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell to play Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, the Human Torch and the Thing, respectively, its taken a few weeks to select the actor that would play the Fantastic Four's most infamous adversary, Doctor Doom. As of last month, director Josh Trank was deciding between four young, fairly unknown, British actors, including Sam Riley (Maleficent), Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables), Toby Kebbell (The Counselor) and Domhnall Gleeson (Dredd) but Variety reports that the studio has chosen Kebbell and is now waiting for him to sign and make it official.
Kebbell is not exactly a household name but has been steadily appearing in prominent movies, including Wrath of the Titans, War Horse and the upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which Fox will also release, so it shouldn't be a problem should he have to split his time between those two franchises.
Fantastic Four is set to open on June 19, 2015, with a sequel already slated for July 14, 2017.
