Last month, the first trailer debuted for My Week With Marilyn, the biopic about a production assistant (Eddie Redmayne) who befriends Marilyn Monroe (played by Michelle Williams) while she shot a movie in Britain. At the time, the movie was scheduled to have opened this past weekend, but after the movie's debut at the New York Film Festival, The Weinstein Company decided to reschedule the opening weekend to November 23, just in time for Thanksgiving. The move was precipitated by the movie's warm reception at the festival.
Based on two memoirs by Colin Clark, My Week With Marilyn shows a glimpse of Monroe's life in 1957, when Monroe was working on the movie The Prince and the Showgirl, which co-starred Sir Laurence Olivier (played by Kenneth Branagh), who also directed. During the movie's production, Monroe was introduced to British life through Clark, while her then-husband, the playwright Aurthur Miller (Dougray Scott) was away. watch the clips >> Posted 11.07.11 by Ryan
