Earlier this month, production had to be halted on the upcoming sequel Iron Man 3 when actor Robert Downey Jr. hurt his ankle while performing a stunt. In this weekend's action-comedy Hit and Run, writer, co-director and lead actor Dax Shepard performed his own driving stunts with Kristen Bell along for the ride as well. When the two actors spoke to Hollywood Dailies, Bell talked about the stunt driving and whether or not it made her nervous to have Shepard put her life in danger. more about Hit and Run >> Posted 08.23.12 by Ryan
While many remember Dax Shepard from his days on MTV's Punk'd, the actor is now known for his work in the NBC family dramedy Parenthood. Shepard's latest project, the action-comedy Hit and Run, combines his three loves: friends, cars and his fiancée, Kristen Bell.
"We just dished it into one big carafe," Shepard told Hollywood Dailies. "All of Dax's interests," added Bell.
Shepard wrote, starred and co-directed Hit and Run, which follows Shepard as former bank robbery getaway driver Charlie Bronson who busts out of the Witness Protection Service to drive his girlfriend (Bell) to Los Angeles. Along the way, they must contend with a U.S. Marshal (Tom Arnold), the feds and his former bank-robbing best friend (Bradley Cooper). "Even Cooper and I, who are, in real life, best friends, are playing ex-best friends and even when they're fighting you can tell there's some weird love there and guilt," said Shepard of working with his friends. watch the trailer >> Posted 08.22.12 by Ryan
Since debuting in MTV's Punk'd, Dax Shepard has showed up in a few movies with his fiancée, Kristen Bell — like he did in 2010's When in Rome — while keeping his day job on NBC's Parenthood for its past three seasons. But Shepard is in auteur mode for his latest movie, the action-comedy Hit and Run, which Shepard wrote, co-directed (with David Palmer), and stars in alongside Bell.
The first trailer arrived last month, and focused on the movie's plot, which follows a former getaway driver Charlie Bronson (Shepard) who busts out of the Witness Protection Service to drive his girlfriend (Bell) to Los Angeles while also trying to escape his former gang (led by Bradley Cooper) and a U.S. Marshal (Tome Arnold). The recently released red band trailer shows more of the kind of humor Shepard has planned for the movie, which includes naked senior citizen swinger parties and jokes about prison rape. Just in case it isn't clear, the trailer is not safe for work. watch the trailer (if you're not at work) >> Posted 06.28.12 by Ryan
Dax Shepard has come a long way since his days helping Ashton Kutcher pull pranks on celebrities as a regular on Punk'd. Shepard has appeared in more than a dozen movies since Punk'd and he not only leads the cast in the upcoming action-comedy Hit and Run (formerly Outrun), but he also wrote and co-directed (with David Palmer) the movie.
Shepard plays Charlie Bronson, a former getaway driver who flees from the Witness Protection Program to drive his girlfriend — played by Shepard's real-life fiancé, Kristen Bell — to Los Angeles for her dream job. Bronson will have to put his driving skills to the test because he's pursued by not only the feds, but his old bank robber buddies, and one of them (Bradley Cooper) has just cause to be more than a little "sore" with Bronson, as revealed in the new trailer for the movie. watch the trailer >> Posted 05.16.12 by BrentJS
The Internet loves a good freak out video — add a celebrity and it's sure to rack up the views. This is exactly what happened when, on Tuesday's Ellen DeGeneres show, Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) shared her love for sloths along with a clip.
For Bell's 31st birthday last summer, funnyman Dax Shepard surprised his wife with a special gift. Bell, an avid lover of sloths, knew what the gift was before even seeing it and was overcome with joy. And tears. As she told Ellen:
My entire life had been waiting for this moment where I would get to interact — I'm serious — with a sloth. watch the hysterical clip >> Posted 02.01.12 by reelz
Suzanne Collins' novel The Hunger Games has earned die-hard fans all over the world, including Hollywood. This week, /Film posted a hand-written note from Kristen Bell to readers. The note read: "Kristen Bell 4 Johanna Mason". At least she's not being shy about what she wants. This is not the first time Bell has shown an interest in The Hunger Games. She tweeted her enthusiasm last year.
I’m not just ‘a’ hunger games fan. THE hunger games fan. read both books twice ... 2nd time i read it aloud 2 friends & did different voices for each character. i am the king of the nerds!
Perhaps it was during her impromptu readers theater performance that she identified the District 7 tribute as being the role for her.
Bell has also discussed The Hunger Games with an interviewer from Shape magazine.
It’s a wonderfully engaging story about a young female gladiator. I read the first one in a day — it’s that good. Gleek Max Adler wants in too>> Posted 04.27.11 by Mandy
The Golden Globe nominations are already out, and the Oscar nominations are forthcoming, but what about the Razzies — the awards show that celebrates the worst Hollywood has to offer? The LA Times reports that the nominating lists for the Razzies have been sent out and the shortlist for worst picture contains the following movies: The Bounty Hunter, Clash of the Titans, The Expendables, Grown Ups, Jonah Hex, Killers, The Last Airbender, Little Fockers, Sex and the City 2, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Vampires Suck, and Yogi Bear. (Keep your fingers crossed When in Rome, The Back-Up Plan, and Gulliver's Travels, you might still make it!) who else could "win"? >> Posted 01.05.11 by Ryan
Starting with Drew Barrymore's opening-scene appearance in 1996's Scream, a cameo has been a staple of the Scream franchise, and Scream 4 is no exception. USA Today reports that Anna Paquin and Kristen Bell will both make cameos in the upcoming sequel, which finds Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox Arquette, and David Arquette once again tormented by a masked killer.
The sequel sees the returning characters joined by a younger set of potential victims, particularly Emma Roberts, who plays the cousin of Campbell's Sidney Prescott. The movie is shooting in Michigan, though recently it has been the subject of script trouble rumors.
Scream 4 opens in 3D on April 15, 2011. Hayden Panettiere, Adam Brody, Marley Shelton, Erik Knudsen, Alison Brie, Mary McDonnell, and Anthony Anderson also star. Posted 08.26.10 by Ryan
